I made this and it turned out delicious! I did mess up on the first batch because the water started to evaporate in the pot so for the second batch I was slowly adding in the tapioca flour so that it can thicken up faster. The whole 90g is a lot to dump once the batter thickens and it'll be dry and hard to work with so baby slow steps is key. I put the leftover dough in the freezer and boiling it worked perfectly great! I I reccomend boiling the boba for a couple more minutes from the 20 minutes.
@VinnieJonny4 жыл бұрын
Did you freeze the entire dough or did you already shaped them into pearls before freezing them? I've been trying to find a way to store these and it wasn't easy to find an obvious answer anyway so thanks for the help! EDIT: Shaping the dough into the pearls and freezing them works, just throw them straight into boilling water for an extra 10 mins more than usual

Quarantined and finally made this: A couple tips: 1. dark brown sugar worked fine. 2. When you make snakes instead of rolling the bits so long to get good round shapes, right after you cut them- sorta press the corners in first and it’ll almost make yourself ball and then you won’t spend so much time “rounding them.” 3. You can store this dough covered well in fridge for a bit, I did for 3 days still good.

She is so cute, seems relatable and like she would be so easy to talk to. Her voice is sooo calming she could do a nighttime story for an app and I would honestly definitely listen to it. I really appreciate these videos because it's so relaxing and fun to watch after a stressful day or if I'm just feeling stressed out. And the descriptions of what the food tastes like is just awesome and one of my favorite parts. The little funny "mess-ups" like forgetting to turn the power on the mixer and when the mixer things flew out of the mixer was sooo sooo great, me and my kids just laughed and thought that was so funny and makes you just more relatable because I've done stuff like that All The Time! Just wanted to share this to encourage you to do more videos and that your doing an awesome job compared to what's out there. It's just fun to watch and you don't seem like most people doing videos that just want attention or are fake and act hysterical, panicked and inappropriate. Cant wait to watch more of these videos and make some of this stuff, maybe even the dirt or clay cookies but I think I'll start with the boba since that seems a bit more easier. I have so sooooo many ideas but here are some of my ideas: cowboy coffee(made with out a maker but a new clean sock), pie gallets(no pie pan just flat pan pies), one pie with many different pies in one, fried egg with torch or in hot hot sun, cooking camping food on fire pit, cooking food covered under hot ashes in clay pot, marinated or other fermented foods, amish foods like fermented watermelon rinds, typical pregnant foods, easy bake oven food, filled cake pops, candied bugs lol :P, sushi, wine cake, olive oil cake, how to make homemade wine with different fruits, iron skillet pizza, copycat Starbucks drinks and shakes, the black limited edition Halloween Burger King burger(the one that has squid ink, I think) and fried bananas and deep fried foods..... Thank you Emmy for doing these videos.

Melted the sugar into the water, added the tapioca starch, mixed it all together and dumped it onto my cutting board to knead out and it stayed way too supple. It never got firm enough to roll the balls and then keep their shape. Even let it rest for 10 mins to cool a bit and it’s still too supple. Ideas??

I found that you need to put the balls into boiling water! If you put it into the pot while it's still heating up, the water would just break down the boba and make starchy mushes in the water

Boba taste kinda like a weak molasses but i think people try it for the texture. It definitely is good with some milk tea. The texture is similar to mochi but more firm? But still chewy

Great tutorial! I did not carefully consider the size of the tapioca balls, so I ended up with giant ones after boiling that did not fit through my straw. They also immediately sank when I boiled them, even while stirring, so they became a little misshapen. They looked like big weird-ass corn nuts...

Sometimes they have really similar straws at convenience stores, intended for whatever brand of slush drink they sell, otherwise I'd suggest finding a boba shop, even if it's a bit of a trip to get to, just go once, buy some, and keep the straws.

Michelle Nguyen do u know if there’s any substitute for tapioca flour? I can’t exactly go outside and go get tapioca flour
@melikashaban37074 жыл бұрын
chlonado1218 I was wondering the same thing. After some research I think you can use corn starch, but it’s not going to be nearly as good (corn starch comes from corn and tapioca starch comes from a cassava root or something)
@Loklok12814 жыл бұрын
Meli ooh ok, thanks for letting me know!
@slowfish294 жыл бұрын
@@Loklok1281 You can only substitute tapioca flour with corn starch when it's a more complex recipe that calls for different kinds of flours. Each of these flours have different purposes. In complex recipes the modification/ difference is less noticeable when using substitutes. When it's something so simple that uses only tapioca starch you cannot really substitute it.

This was amazing! I’ve tried other boba recipes like a thousand times, but when I would roll out the boba balls, they would get all crumbly. I had no problems with this recipe! I made a blended matcha drink with my boba instead of milk, and it tasted so good. It looked so pretty too, and it was totally worth the time and mess to make it!✨🧋
