Recipe for those who wanna screenshot: Ingredients: 2 cups AP or bread flour 1 tsp active dry yeast 1 tsp salt 1 tsp sugar 1 cup warm water (110-115 F) 1-2 tbsp olive oil to coat dough -- Instructions: - Mix water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Wait until the yeast has become foamy. - In a larger bowl, combine flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture. Mix until no dry spots remain and the dough is stretchy. - Cover dough with a towel or plastic wrap. Either let rest at room temp for 2 hours or put into a proofer at 90 F for 1 1/2 hours. Wait until dough is doubled in size. (May take longer if cold) - Fold the dough inside the bowl, taking your fingers or a rubber spatula along the edge and folding it to the center until dough has deflated considerably. - Take a loaf pan and grease and flour the surface. - Add oil to dough, fold in half, and transfer into loaf pan. - Let bread proof until it has reached the top of the loaf pan. (1 hour or more) - Bake at 375 F for 40 mins. - Let cool completely before cutting and enjoy!

Bread flour has more protein (King Arthur's is 12.7%) than all-purpose (11.7%), which helps develop the gluten in the bread and generally results in a better product. King Arthur's is particularly high with the protein, beating out a ton of other bread flours, which makes it a very good choice. Great job!

@@christinatakacs6791 aww. 🥺🥹. Well.. don't beat yourself up about it too bad tho.. about not showing as much affection as you'd of liked too. We are ALLLL guilty of letting life get in the way sometimes. It absolutely happens to everybody. And I learned my lesson early..In a..very bad way. See.. I wasn't always this way. I was a wild child...a partier. But then, my baby sister..she was murdered when she was 13. and I was 23. (Am 32 now. Yesss...I'm in an age Gap relationship 😂😂) So... that loss...that devastating, heartbreaking.. life altering loss... that's what taught me to love this way now. 🥺. One minute she was here..the next minute she was gone. I was young, and took life for granted..and when she died. It brought me to my knees. So. I promise you I get that part. We didn't fight or anything like that.. and we were very close.. but still. I felt...robbed. bereft. I was just young, you know? Wild. Pissed off at my mother for me being in foster care.(My sister and I were technically half sisters. But not in our hearts 💕 she wasnt in care like me. My holidays, vacations- were with my sis and her mom. Before fc and during. Not mine. ) so. That is why, I'm like this now. And it's unfortunate that we must learn these lessons in these kind of ways. *hugs* *hugs* *hugs* I'm sure your husband loved you, and wouldn't of wanted you to feel this way. Even if you were a little.. catty or something sometimes. 😂😂. Its just life!! We all have our moods and stuff. So. Idk.. I understand it..but just don't want you to tiptoe that line of "I wish I would've" ... because it's a slippery slope. And I'm very glad that you have friends who still call and check on you and stuff. They are really godsends in times like those. And you've figured it out too..that same lesson. And can apply it everyday with them!! ❤🫠. It's good to have people around you who knew the person you lost...because it's not just a stranger who didn't know you or him, or see you guys together. You know?? These people who help us thru our grief.. man are they amazing. ❤ But yeah... I feel for you tho. ❤. RIP to your hubby. And my sis.

For good results, use live yeast and much less of it. Let the dough proof for 12h instead of 1 and you'll have a nice bread. All the folding and sourdough stuff can be left aside. Thats for proper bread. If you just want toast, you don't need to make an artform out of it. Just play with yeast and water ratios until you get a bread YOU like

@@Hungriger_Hugo1337 Thank you for the tips & for the encouragement. I have a lot to learn about bread making, & I find I get the best results in the kitchen when I experiment to my tastes & preferences.

I love how he says let it cool completely before cutting it, and when he cuts it you can still see the steam from the bread

Bro I literally had some of this stuff lying around and wanted to try to make my own bread. What timing. I'll follow your instructions, thanks.

Looks delicious ❤ and the bread also 😂❤

Oh my! You obviously have not made much bread before. Just the fact that your loaf (after its second rise) did not increase while baking points to there being a problem.

If you use instant yeast, it doesn't need to be bloomed/proofed. Just stir it into the flour.

Sorry mate, i don't think this looks like good sandwich bread. Wishing you the best though.

Ok, so it's not just me? Lol That's got a weird texture for sandwich bread imo.

@Jill Casey DeSantis... No. Not just you. 😊 My comment (for now) is at the top. Yours was the last one (and I read them all) with only the 3 of us stating otherwise. 😄

I've always been lazy and scared to try making bread, and I love baking! The day I make bread, I think I'm gonna feel unstoppable. This definitely gave me the extra push to try 🙈

I'm definitely going to make that. You made it look so easy. You simplified every recipe for bread that I have seen.

The bread looked good, but it needed to raise longer it was flat on top and wasn't as super soft as it should have been. I use a recipe that my grandmother used, and it raises up beautifully and has a nicer texture. Her recipe was from the Fleishmans recipe book from back in the 60s and 70s. I do love the smell of homemade bread as it permeates the house with great memories.

Im 14, i tried this recipe and it worked amazingly, i was scared that i had made my bread into a biscuit because of what the outside looked like, but the inside was perfect. I saved this recipe and i love it.

I don't have a proofer and I'm a bit more impatient. I found a trick earlier this year that was super helpful. If you have a crock pot you can fill it halfway with water. Flip the lid. Put a cloth down on top and then put your mixing bowl (covered) on top. Set it to low and the radiant heat will proof your dough.
