A few questions for everyone, but especially Ashley Marie: Is there a reason why you didn’t make mocha or coffee cocoa bombs? Are they icky? Can you use vanilla coffee creamer powder instead of vanilla powder? What is the best way to store them until giving them? I appreciate your video and all the time it takes you for your videos to get to us. You are a really amazing baker as I’ve watched over the years. Speaking for myself, little blunders and blooper moments are always welcome, showing how to be resourceful when things don’t go perfectly should happen more often. Baking as well as life aren’t always as picture perfect as the edited version. 😉 It’s good to see you again Ashley. Thank you for your time and help!

I didn't make coffee because I don't drink it but I have heard they are delicious! Yes you can use a creamer powder instead of vanilla and just keep them in an airtight container until you use them. Thank you so much! That means so much to me and I am happy my mistakes have been useful haha:)

I have a question about your homemade cocoa powder. You say to add cornstarch if you will be keeping the powder for longer. What do you mean by longer? Do you mean if not using immediately that day or is there a certain amount of time that it will last without caking. But, if it were to start , Couldn’t it just be whisked up quickly before using? Thanks for the video… It was very helpful!
@Ashleemariecakes3 жыл бұрын
It should last for about a week without caking but I would suggest adding it because it is minimal effort to mix in cornstarch and you can use it for weeks instead of days. It isn't very hard to make your own cocoa powder so you could definitely mix it up right before, but it can be more convenient to have it on hand:)

Where I live Im stuck using instant coffee. I'm thinking of also putting instant freeze dried mins coffee. I think only freeze dried instant coffee will work for this. But I'm always adding hot cocoa mix to my coffee. 🤷 might be worth A try!

The brand of cocoa powder doesn't matter, just use whatever your family favorite is. I also don't drink coffee which is why I didn't do a coffee bomb. So I am not much help in that regard, Sorry!:)

Ashley, have you ever tried to place a piece of parchment paper on your hot plate, then place your half bomb on that to smooth out the edges? I would think it would make clean up easier, once the chocolate hardened it would pull away. Also, would having the glass cup with the chocolate on your hot plate be a good idea to keep it warm and pourable? Maybe even piping bags that have chocolate in them on the plate as well in between steps. (a thin towel down on it may be needed) Just a thought.

Adding liquor to the chocolate often causes it to seize, I would suggest getting a chocolate that already has a liquoring flavor in it, or as Aymie said, get a liquor candy for inside the ball

Hi Ashlee I watched this over again since I’ve now started making my HCBS and you are by far the most thorough person on KZbin who helps so much, tips, we can see close up and I’ve learned invaluable lessons for my own HCB journey. One thing though, I did buy strawberry, raspberry, banana, pb and cinnamon roll oils just like yours. On amazon the chart shows choc but the actual label says alcohol and or water and maybe I added too much ? I doubt it but my choc got too thick. I added veg oil to work w it and it did work but I’m not ok adding oil to my bombs. I found 2 places online that sell oil soluble flavors and powders natures flavors and olive nation there’s also Weber but they want a biz license and sell minimum in gallon form. I have heard from many that the lorann oils work but for me no go. Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for making a huge difference in my work. My fav flavor I’ve made so far is white choc raspberry w freeze dried raspberries (ground into powder) I’ll be subscribing. I wanna learn about your vanilla stuff!!!! ✌️👍👏😊

II am a first-time watcher. I love this!! I hardly ever catch a "LIVE" video. When I watch them I pause at different points and add my own suggestions. So sometimes my comments are long, but I hope I am insightful and helpful. Could you use a silicone cupcake pan or even the individual silicone cupcake "papers?" I don't know what to call them. Also, what sprinkles do you use that float? If you can't find the dry/powdered vanilla you could always add liquid vanilla to the milk after you heat it. Would you add cinnamon oil or ground cinnamon? If you are using ground do you have trouble mixing it in? Can you decorate the outside with cookie crumbs? Like ground ginger snaps for the gingerbread ones? What about adding some espresso powder or instant coffee to the hot cocoa mix? I love to add a couple of spoon fulls of hot cocoa mix to my cup of coffee. What about adding flavored creamers in place of the dry milk on the hot cocoa mix? Hard candy comes in many flavors caramel, coffee nibs, raspberry, strawberry, etc., that could ground up and added in or sprinkled on for decoration. Pink Himalayan Salt would be pretty sprinkled on a salted caramel one. Also, the eggnog one would be pretty with a white chocolate shell with fresh ground nutmeg mixed in. Ghiradelli has an eggnog flavored square in one of their holiday bags, with a pumpkin caramel one also, they are yummy. Since you are doing two layers for the outside, could you use a colored candy melt for the first layer then the regular chocolate for the second layer? These would be great for other occasions, too. White or different colors of chocolate for weddings. Find different shape silicone molds for different themes. Is it really a problem if the regular or homemade marshmallows dry a bit? After all the freeze-dried ones are dry.
@Ashleemariecakes3 жыл бұрын
I am so happy you enjoyed it so much! Thank you for your notes and I will try to answer all of your questions:) A silicone cupcake pan or papers would work great but they wouldn't give you the round shape that is so popular with hot cocoa bombs. Also the bottom edges of the chocolate would be thicker since it is not a continuous shape like a circle. For sprinkles and dried vanilla you can find all of my ingredients and kitchen tools on my amazon storewww.amazon.com/shop/ashleemariecake. And yes just adding vanilla to your heated milk would work just as well. I would add ground cinnamon as I often put that in my hot chocolate. I have never had a problem mixing it in but if you are worried about that then you could use cinnamon oil. You can decorate the outside with whatever you would like! That is what's so fun about these, there are so many ways to personalize them. Adding expresso powder is a great idea, I don't drink coffee which is why I didn't do an expresso example but I've heard they are excellent. You can definitely put a coffee creamer in them just make sure it is a dry version. Dry marshmallows depends on personal preference. I don't like my marshmallows dried out unless they are the dehydrated type but if it doesn't bother you then don't worry about it:) You had so many good ideas for toppings, fillings, and decorations! I am so glad you liked the video and I hope these answers will provide some clarification!

Hi Ashlee - new subscriber. Watched this video, then your butterbeer ice cream and fudge videos. My question is, what would be s good way to add butterbeer flavor to chocolate bomb? Does you butterbeer syrup require refrigeration if I were to swirl it overtop of bomb?
@Ashleemariecakes3 жыл бұрын
Butterbeer would be such a good idea! Making a good butterbeer bomb would be difficult because so many of the ingredients need to be refrigerated (including my syrup). The primary flavors of butterbeer are butterscotch and cream soda with the frothy whipped topping. If I were to make one I would most likely use a white chocolate for the shell and fill it with crushed butterscotch candies and vanilla powder. It will take some experimenting but hopefully that can get you off to a good start:)

In place of using the pumpkin spice chips, can you use the white bark with pumpkin spice pudding added?
@Ashleemariecakes3 жыл бұрын
You can't put any wet ingredients inside the bombs so pudding wouldn't work but you could try adding a little bit of pumpkin pie spice
@kellylynn68313 жыл бұрын
@@Ashleemariecakes i meant the pudding mix it's dry, i made a white chocolate with pistachio pudding mix inside it was delicious.
