This is the same NIGERIAN method of cooking Jollof Rice. But we soak & wash our par boiled rice to remove the starch. Awesome job!! ❤

@salehasalleh2358 -- 15 mins is fine. Be careful adding water otherwise ur Jollof Rice will be too soft.

@@Tissaleha2358just boil it a little, when the water changes color it means that the starch is out. Then drain it and rinse with cold water. Before you add it to the tomato paste sauce

Well done! The very classic recipe for jollof that the aunties use is ginger. This is the core ingredient for most of our dishes, chopped ginger. The new age aunties making the video tutorials use garlic.

Loll... no quantities required. The hotter and spicier you want it to be, the more habaneros. 1 habenero is usually more than enough for a regular pot (4 cups of rice), even half is sufficient if you can't tolerate heat. 3 Bell peppers. 1 large onion to blend and half and onion to fry with the tomato paste (3 or 4 tsp is ok). Other seasonings to taste... don't use too much curry... 1 to 2 tsp is enough. 1 to 2 cups chicken stock. Salt to taste.

When you cook rice the liquid to rice ratio IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. Anyone who follows this shxt to the letter will always end up fucking up the rice. You don’t know how much rice you should use nor do you know how much sauce you should use. They just say to mix it together as if it’s no way you’re gonna make the soggiest rice ever

We cook ours on low heat with chicken/ beef stock included till it burns to give it that smoky flavour if there’s no firewood. Just 2 pcs of pepper?😅

I do have one question and it's not a joke at all. I was raised with the Louisiana culture, would it be wrong for me to add some spicy blackened Louisiana sausage?
