Thank you very much. I love Korean food after being stationed in Korea for two years. I saved this video and will pickle some vegetables this weekend. Also, I love chayote, cho cho, and will pickle some of those too. Take care

I just made mine yesterday, and I'm trying my best to give it 2 full days before I taste it! I had some veggies that I needed to clear out of the fridge, so I added Korean peppers, onions, shallot, cabbage, and carrots. I'll report back after the taste test🤗

@@ksb9469 thanks for the reminder. It is absolutely delicious. I always have a mason jar in the fridge at all times. It’s the perfect topper for a lot of meals, but my favorite is typically on top of a salmon rice bowl🤤

Hi! I love your channel & the recipes you share, & I do appreciate how Koreans incorporate vegetables in practically every meal of the day. I wanted to ask, you mentioned in the video that after 3 or 4 days of pickling, Koreans will take out the brine from the pickles then boil it down. After boiling it down, is the resulting brine solution returned to the pickled veggies it came from?
@koreanbapsang68352 жыл бұрын
oh yes. That's the purpose. Sorry if it wasn't clear.

Thank you for the recipe. I have been enjoying picked veggies (chayote, Jicama, Sweet Pepper, Carrot..etc) with almost every meal. I am not sure if I should leave the veggies in the unopened jar until ready to eat, or if the veggies should be taken out after some days? Can unopened jars stay in a cool place, or do they need to be placed in the fridge?
@koreanbapsang6835 Жыл бұрын
You keep the veggies in the jar and keep it in the fridge.

I heard that adding laurel/bay leaves and/or green tea packets to your pickles can help keep them crunchy.

Is apple cider vinegar fine for this recipe?
@koreanbapsang68353 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is. It will have a slight difference in flavor, but not necessarily a bad thing.

Is it possible to exclude the sugar entirely? I have a really low tolerance for the taste of sweetness.
@koreanbapsang68352 жыл бұрын
The pickle will be fine, but the taste obviously will be different.
