How to make Kufic Style Calligraphic Art | Square calligraphy 99 Names of Allah Contemporary Art

This adobe illustrator tutorial teaches you how to create Kufic calligraphy. In other words how to make square calligraphy art. Kufic basically refers to stylized, geometrically rendered calligraphy works, using Arabic letters as actual design elements. It is one of the oldest calligraphic form. This Kufic calligraphy was first seen in the seventh century in Kufa region, in Iraq.
The square calligraphy can be made using any language. It’s basically very famous in Arabic, becuase Kufic calligraphy has a strong historical background. Walaikkumussalam warahmathullah. Ratio is based on what you are going to write. For what you are trying to write, you could write it within 3 sets of 13x13.. If incase you want to write it as one artwork, try with 13x27 or 13x39. It's how you want to wrap the whole thing around.

There's an artistic liberty as long as the actual name itself is not difficult in reading the specific letters in order. In this kufic style I tried to confine it within the square. You can do it however u want.
