Lebanese potatoes and beef is a delicious traditional dish! You can easily make it vegetarian by swapping out the ground beef for a combination of nuts. Then follow the recipe exactly. I like to use walnut, cashew and slivered almond mix.
Ingredients:
Boiled potatoes 4-5
Yellow onion 1 diced
Butter 1 tbsp
Milk 2 tbsp
Baking powder 1/2 tbsp
Olive oil 1/2 tbsp
Egg 1
Nutmeg ( a little to taste)
Walnuts 2 cups ground
Meat (optional)
Salt 1 tbsp ( to taste)
Seven spices 1/2 tbsp
Sumac 1 tbsp
Pepper 1/2 tbsp
Cinnamon 1/2 tbsp
Marjoram 1/2 tbsp
Assemble the dish
Drizzle olive oil on bottom
Split mashed potato mix in half
Add first half to the dish
Add the beef stuffing
Add the remaining potato mix
Don’t precut before baking. Cut after
Add a decoration & drizzle 1tbsp olive oil on top
( breadcrumbs and cheese optional)
Preheat oven to 350
Bake until 15-20 min or until the dish is warm all the way through.
