I have watched so many of your videos. They are great. I love watching them. And also thanks for using the international measurements standards this time rather than the old world Imperial one. It's a headache to convert.

Thank you Helen, I use honey on my lip balms or maple syrup for the vegans, you will need to add it when the oils are warm , but no hot and you will do it very slowly. Also for my local beeswax, since I am a coffee drinker, I use an empty coffee container ( call me cheap) lol but works

What a clever idea reducing into smaller usable sizes! I hear so much about Shea being grainy how can you keep it from doing that? The melted oils would pour amazingly with a squeeze bottle like a salad oil bottle with a long nozzle like those bought at the grocery stores ...you give so much wonderful information thanking you so much for all of your efforts,stay blessed !

shea can get grainy if you overheat it, so a low and slow melt is good...

Hi Ellen, Thanks for the wonderful recipe. I tried it and it came out well. However, after a few days it started becoming grainy. Please have you got any tips on how to fix that.
@EllenRuthSoap2 жыл бұрын
I've had that happen before too. It could be too high of a melting temp, or the hard oils and butters weren't fully mixed with the liquid... You can try adding a touch more liquid oil if you remelt it and make sure it's blended really well.

You can use candelilla wax or carnauba wax instead of the bees wax, for the lip balm,the ratio is not going to be the same though.

Hello Ruth I tried your recipe fantastic thank you for sharing however mine had little holes in the middle what could that be?
@EllenRuthSoap3 жыл бұрын
Glad you gave it a try! The little sink holes are when the oils harden, they shrink a bit. You can go back over them with a bit more melted balm or use the heat gun to melt the tops a bit and it will fill in the holes.
