I adapted this easy recipe from my Maple Toffee recipe. Just changing the amount of one ingredient and the final temperature turns toffee into delicious chewy caramels. A fun way to learn about candy-making.

Love the cleaver idea! Certain candies need more force to cut! Thx.

Your the best. I actually tried the regular caramel recipe first & then I saw this video & I had to make them:) I have a ??? Would I be able to substitute the maple with coconut cream?
@danrt5010 жыл бұрын
probably not, the chemistry of candy is quite particular. that said, you don't know if you don't try, and if the result is not this, then you can work backward to see what you have to change: amount of coconut cream up or down and temperature up or down. and thanks.

I don't think 238 is hot enough to have them set where I live or anywhere humid. Or hot in the summer. Soon as you grab them they'd be sauce but I do like your recipe besides. That. Thanks.

How do you store them, and how long can you store them?

hi i really like this recipe but i dont have a candy thermometer so about how long did you boil the mixture for?
@danrt508 жыл бұрын
there is no set time with candy and you really should use a thermometer when making any candy

You can edit out some in between (i.e. the parchment, waiting on temp) and have a clean vid here, also leave your text on screen longer

I made maple Carmel's out of pure maple syrup. I don't know how I made it cause I was going for candy but it was the best mistake I made
