The MIDI scale tip was CLUTCH! I do feel learning your scales in the long run will benefit song writing, but this is an amazing tip to help get your leads going. Really enjoyed this tutorial :)

Ayy great vid! Been looking for one that shows a lead technique like this. Quick question tho. Why do you use C Minor Scale for F# Minor track?
@DowdenProductionAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The minor scale follows the same pattern for every key. So I used the 'Scale' MIDI effect on C minor, but I changed the base note to the F#. The minor scale follows this pattern: T-S-T-T-S-T-T (T=1 tone or two semitones, and S = 1 semitone) The scale MIDI effect has a Cminor preset but not an F# minor so just changing the base note is fine, it puts it into an F# minor scale. :)

This is nowhere near Artbat, Monolink or even Afterlife. Quick and dirty arrangement, generic sounds... just like 10'000 others on KZbin as clickbait. A bit disappointed on the copycat here to drive your traffic, this is far from professional standards in 2021 just check Beatport's finest in Melodic House & Techno, Organic House, Indie Dance... and you'll see the huge gap between generic music made in 10 minutes vs. bangers.
@DowdenProductionAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate - always welcome feedback. It's not clickbait as I am truly a fan of their style, and I make similar music. I chose a generic sound because a lot of ARTBAT's style is very generic and similar in the sense of the same style bassline, and same style leads. The generic theme is to cater to their style, not individualism within each song. The video is already 45 minutes, and it's really hard to get people to watch your content when you're pushing past that so if I had more time I would have spent much more time on it. Hope that clears up why you may think it's just recycled click bait. Do you have a KZbin channel or Soundcloud link I can check out?
