Thank you for this video. I am new to all things wire wrapping and soldering. I tried to make a copper bead, but it looked like a copper mouse turd. Now, thanks to your video, I now have a better understanding of how to do it.

I ended up weighing the silver ball after it was the size I wanted, then using the same weight for each ball, but that was pretty fussy work. This is a MUCH better idea! Thanks again Randy! No matter how many times I rewatch your videos, I always learn something new!!!🤗❤️🤗

WHOA! You were NOT JOKING about brass exploding! 😄 That could lead to an intense situation for someone who didn't know (like me). I haven't worked with brass yet (and not sure I will now😄) but I really appreciate the demo. Thanks!👍

Damn, those jigs are expensive! Re ventilation, someone decided they didn't need a good sized air filter that was virtually unused. Left it on a table in a common area. I took it home, ordered some charcoal filters and clammed them inside the cover. Works great, moves 10 times the air the little black smoke extractor does. I turn that one on, too! Maybe a cheaper idea than spending hundreds on a commercial fume extractor. Maybe. I guess I'll know in 10 years when I have brain tumors or something. Yikes! Yes! Subscribe to Randy's (I highly recommend this! ;-)) channel and tap that little bell on the bottom right to be notified immediately when Randy posts new videos!

It's only if you are over heating it well past its melting point. So making anything with it would be fine.

How do you keep the sterling from coming out pitted? I've only been able to successfully make smooth balls from fine or argentum silver.
@GomeowCreations
@GomeowCreations 5 жыл бұрын
I use flux on it and make sure the metal is clean before heating it. I also watch it to make sure it looks like a solid ball before removing the heat and I make sure not to over heat it. I do all of this on a charcoal block

If you overheat the silver, you end up cooking it and get pits. Just a little learning curve.

You might have this set at one length to make the same size balls, but you have to remember to use the same gauge wire, or you will have different size balls depending on the wire gauge.
