I have been making this cake for over 35 years! When my daughter was in first grade, her whole classroom made cookbooks (which I still have hers!) for Christmas gifts and each child was assigned a recipe and my daughters recipe was this million dollar poundcake!!! Of course my daughter wanted soooo much to bake this cake together with me! The first time we ever baked this cake, I thought I had done something very wrong because of the crispy top of the cake! But as my family was eating this cake we all agreed that this cake is like a buttery crispy cookie top with tender moist poundcake underneath! We would all fight for the top of the cake!!! Your video just brought back so many happy memories ...thank you for taking me back in time!!!

I believe this is my grandmother’s recipe. The only difference is that your pound cake isn’t yellow enough. My grandmother fed her chickens scraps from her garden such as turnip greens. They produced very bright yellow yolks which made her cake a stronger yellow.

Why are there no more videos with Ivy? Why did the channel become a podcast and no more southern living videos are appearing? Did I miss something?
