I’ve been using this recipe to make banana nut bread for over 35 years. I adjust a few ingredients for the bread. It’s delicious, best banana nut bread you’ve ever tasted. I have no doubt the cake is fabulous too. Thanks for sharing Chef.

I've been making hummingbird cakes for years. This cake is absolutely delicious and so easy to make. I have to make a cake this weekend for an 82 year old friend and it's either a hummingbird cake or a black forest cake? I have bananas ripening right now so I think I know which cake it will be.

To ripen bananas just put bananas in a paper bag and add an apple, close loosely. The apple puts out a gas that ripens the bananas. In 24 hours you have ripe bananas.

There's a cajun place near me and they have hummingbird cake and a ton of other desserts in these giant bakery displays and it always looks incredible. The thing is like 8 or 9 inches tall lmao
