CMIIW, I think it's the bcs that Thailand and Indonesia aren't so different (i mean we live close to each other), meaning the grandmas there are probably similar lol. I mean as an Indonesian, this is how exactly my grandma lived, most of the time alone, somewhat stubborn, doing tons of things as if she's still in her prime, etc (don't wanna spoil anything). I cried THROUGHOUT the film, not just on the climax, purely bcs of how similiar she is to mine (and many others i guess) :"

I was Born in Talad Plu, the film location. I am also Thai-Chinese and will bring my son to watch the movie today. My son may be surprised when he see his dad's tear.
i can't believe how this trailer made me cry... I grew up not being close to my actual grandmother (both mom and dad side) but I was really close to my "auntie" - my grandmother's half sister (dad side). She did not marry. She always took care of me. I used to accompany her during her visits to the doctor when I was in grade school and highschool. She was the one I consider my lola. I vowed to take care of her and to treat her when I get my first salary but she passed away a day before my birthday during my 4th year in college... I didn't get to fulfill my promise.... still makes me cry whenever I remember....

Often, we will only appreciate our parents after they are gone. Lost both my parent in teen age so does my grandparents, I did grew up some part of childhood with my Ahmah. I can clearly remember witnessing my mom cried so bad when grandma casket leaving the house. And then it was my turn when my mum left me. Like Denzel Washington said she was my first love, and I was his last love. Still missed them even over 20 years. No amount of money could bring them back. Everyone will cross path this stage of life seeing them leave us. This movie remind us that while the young ones have plenty time to fool around, don't forget the time is limited for them. So start appreciate families and friend today more.

I gotta say, such a heartwarming movie. It doesn't matter what religion and race you are, it really gonna touch your heart let alone me being Malaysian Chinese, totally understand the culture nuances. Although we don't speak Teohchew but it reminds me of older generations speaking in Hokkein, which is very similiar.Once the movie ended, I couldn't leave as I was too emotional but I couldn't show it, I just sat in the cinema until the end. I could feel my heart wrecking. Congratulation to everyone that participated this movie, you all really give a fantastic gift to the world. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you very much.

Watched elderly play card together. The conversation during the meal. The foods and so on. Time flies - they all are gone by now. My mother, who is over 70 yrs old, joked with me that they had returned to China. I'm single and live alone in BKK far away from my mom. I am glad that I had the chance to do what BILLKIN is doing in this Film until the end, and made so many great memories together with my grandparents. In the end that is the only thing we can take with us: The beautiful memories we made in life, with the people we love. I have a lot to thank the American Film "Meet Joe Black" (1998)... for helping me understand that principle at a very young age; tru the hospital dialogue scenes between a Jamaican cancer patient - acted by an incredible Lois Kelly Miller - and Death - acted by a mesmerizing Brad Pitt. I am sure many people going cry her eyes our watching this Film, because is really based in many of them true stories. Cheers…!
