Nice. I think the Knight is actually a great shape, it invites the hand to pick it up.

Another great Four Way Challenge. By coincidence my wife has just asked me to make some decorations to hang on the Christmas tree next year. I will not make chess pieces but the techniques you have demonstrated will be the same that I will need for my project. Thank you.

Just found the chess board I made at school 50 years ago. I should really make the pieces for it, but I don't want to be too hasty.

Nice job! So many chess design options available. Like you say, your design is clearly recognizable as a Staunton style overall with a clean, modern look. Only 26 more to do, Tomi.

Thanks for a great demonstration of how important the skew is! I love your design and proportions. To begin each piece, what was the diameter of the base to begin with?

Happy 2024! That's a nice smooth set. Very well done for the first one you've ever tried, I'd say. The knight reminds me of some prehistoric ways horses were depicted, very minimalistic. Liked the improvised spindle sander. Thanks for another instructive and entertaining video.

Interesting take on the shapes; this would make a pretty neat looking chess set. The shape of the knight is kind of cool; it grows on one as you look at it. All of the pieces definitely give one the information needed to know what they are. Now off to watch the other 3 videos.

Excellent job. Really enjoyed the entire video, especially the part about making lunch for the kids! I liked the simple form and how a small undercut at the bottom really steps it up. Knight turned out very good. I just discovered you through the 4-way and enjoying your other videos.

Wow Tomi, those look great 😁 and it was your first time doing it so they will only get better. Some of your entry cuts with the skew looked as if you were starting from fresh air with no bevel!!.... youre handy with the tools 😁 To my eye, the Knight needs a little more...... maybe a notch taken out of the "back". All other pieces have a taper and look nearly delicate, whereas the Knight looks kinda "chunky" compared to the rest. The "castle" is called a Rook (spoken as "ruk")...... you speak more than one language, so dont worry about using the wrong name 😁 I like the modern look of the pieces, if i ever make a set they will be similar. Thanks Tomi

@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning It was your first go at it........ could you imagine the state of the pieces if a "normal" person turned em as a first go 😂😂 You're not "normal", you have skills us mere mortals don't possess 😁

You can also draw out your blanks and a template cut out on a bandsaw or jigsaw. Easyer to size your pieces and shape with a flat template. Also constant with many pieces. Thanks again for sharing. 👍
