Yep splice for a month or 2 does me good for a year or even more if I really wanted. I also did the same with loopmasters way back which had a really sweet seq filter resampler app/plug in that I really liked making little construction kits in (still use it today sometimes 2). The sounds might be just a tiny bit better on splice but you also get to keep using the seq and sample player on loopmasters as well as re-download samples anytime after sub is up on loopmasters, so overall I wld say loopmasters is just as good or maybe even better than splice IMO...it was just nice to make kit before starting the creation, like it makes you think full picture!

I feel like it's either or. If I did just make a raw beat on the spot, I don't think I would do as good of a job of explaining what I am doing since my flow would constantly be interrupted

when it comes to figuring out what the key of the track/sample , I started using "Mixed in Key Studio edition" VST... it auto detects what notes are being triggered in real time, its very accurate Ive tested it many times, you can find the accurate scale right away

Yeah I stopped using it because it was a bit too buggy. I tend to pull it out once in a while if I want to get really experimental because I like it's randomization features. But for straight forward sampling, it can be a bit painful to use
