This banana bread is the real deal people! Moist and fluffy on the inside with that light golden crunch on the outside. Just sweet enough with a hint of cinnamon and brown sugar and lots of banana flavor. It's quickly become my favorite banana bread recipe. I hope you guys enjoy this banana bread recipe just as much as my family has. It's gets even better the next day. Freezes and reheats very well. You'll want to make two loaves.

Best recipe I have ever made. I made it my go to every Christmas since I discovered it. have added nutmeg cloves and ginger to some there's just so many ways you can tweak this recipe. This base recipe is the best! That lemon juice just brings everything together I think that is the key thank you for this wonderful recipe

I know how you feel my grandmother had a stroke and was paralyzed on her right side, she couldn't communicate very well and the rest of her life became a seemingly endless charades. She was a smoker and was later diagnosed with lung cancer, however was able to fight for about 3 years. It can be tough to see your loved ones go through the struggle of age and illness, however you always have your memories from your past that will impact your future.

Darcy McCutchen Thank you, Darcy. I'm very sorry for your loss. You are right. I have been taking care of mom for almost 10 years now and even though a lot of it has been very sad, I feel blessed that I was able to do this and not have to put her into a nursing home. I have lots of pictures and videos of sweet times with mom, even in the midst of this illness. Since I wrote my original comment, my mom has been put into home hospice but I know I have done a good thing keeping her in her home and I will cherish every moment I've had with her.

I've made at least 10 different banana bread recipes, trying to find the magic that my Mom made when I was a kid. Every single one was lacking in some way. Found this recipe here on KZbin, and something about it made me feel warm inside. I don't know what it is, but your voice or spirit, or something about you clicked with me. I'm now making this for the second time in two weeks. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! This one has the flavor, and maybe more importantly, the texture that I've been trying to find. You rock!!!!!! Thank you so much!!!

I skipped the lemon juice and buttermilk and it still tastes amazing. i replaced buttermilk with water mixed with greek yogurt /plain yogurt. and i also reduced the sugar by -20g of half the recipe because the bananas were already sweet as is. :)

It's easy to MAKE buttermilk (does ANYONE ever have it on hand?). The purpose of buttermilk in almost any baking recipe is to add tenderness and lighten the batter. Once the acids in the buttermilk get in contact with the baking soda or baking powder in the batter, a giant fizz-fest takes place. The reaction with the baking soda (or powder) cancels out the sourness of the buttermilk, leaving baked goods airy, tender and delicious. Ingredients: 1 cup milk (whole, 2%, or heavy cream) 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar Instructions Combine the milk and lemon juice or vinegar.Stir and let the mixture stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes. When it is ready, the milk will be slightly thickened (not quite as thick as buttermilk you've purchased) and you will see small curdled bits.

Hey Monique, I have to tell you what a hit I was at my church this weekend a out Women's Breakfast. Some of the women were asked to make baked goods for our raffle and I made your Moist Banana (Nut) Bread. I was asked to make two so I doubled the recipe. I've made it three times from my family, but it was smelling so good to my husband that the 2nd one didn't make it out the house. The ones that won a piece of the Moist Banana (Nut) Bread at the raffle could not stop eat it. The owner of the restaurant we were at asked for a piece and he had to share it with his son and daughter (who were out waiter and waitress). Since everyone didn't get a piece I have to make more and now I've been asked to donate another Moist Banana (Nut) Bread to another function in October. I 've used your Thanksgiving recipes and other recipes on your page and all have been a hit and I knew this would also win. Words cannot describe how much of a hit you made me. Thank you and keep up the awesome recipes!!!!!!!!!!

I hope this message helps po!

My best friend loves Banana bread, and I make this all the time. For years now. He cuts them into small pieces, stores in his freezer and takes one out to eat after dinner every night. Once he is done he asks for another batch, and he literally makes them last for a couple months at a time. I have told him so many times, let me make something else, something new. But no. He wants banana bread. This one. He always knows when I change the recipe and doesn't like if I make too many changes to it. I add a bunch of stuff though. I add, dark chocolate chunks, figs/dates/raisins, coconut flakes, whatever nuts I have at home. Always turns out amazing!

Oh my gawd! This recipe is truly a bomb. I'm not a good cook but I got tons of recommendation. My wife took some to work. I'm telling you that her work has tons of old ladies who's been cooking all their life so they are very picky. They ask me to bake some more. Not bad for my first time baking...EVER. My wife keeps insisting to make it. I made my second one tonight. My 4 yr old even helped me make it last time. So it's really easy. My question is you mentioned at the very end to butter and flour the container. The first batch I didn't put flour. I just greased it...I think that's the term. I did it today. What's the purpose of the flour combined with butter? Thank you so much for sharing. It helped me bond with 4 yr old daughter. By the way, she helped me again today. YOU'RE THE BOMB!

I just made this but for the flour I added 1 cup and a half then 1/4 cup almonds that I put in a food processor to make into almond flour and 1/4 cup walnuts which I did the same to. I then made a brown sugar glaze for it. I put the cake in the freezer for a few minutes to cool so it wont melt the glaze and then took it out and poured the glaze onto and added some chopped walnuts on top too. Just boutta try it! This is gonna be amazing! I made two cakes one for me and my family and one for our neighbor.

So many good reviews, I’m going to try it out today. We have 20 degree weather and we are hunkering down at home. Central Tx, isn’t used to this frozen climate.

Made this today as I'm sitting home with little to do, it came out great! I used almond milk instead of buttermilk and it was still very moist. I feel like it'll taste even better tomorrow (if my family doesn't eat it all tonight lol) thanks again for another great recipe!

Ma'am this bread came out SOOOO bomb! I thought I messed it up by not baking in a flour-lined pan, but when I tell you that it slid out in perfection...my husband literally documented it with his phone and posted it to Facebook. I'm not a formally trained baker, but from what I understand by me baking in a clear glass dish...it helped.

Oh my goodness! This the best banana bread ever. Thank you so much for the recipe. I made this today and it came out perfect. My husband is diabetic so I used Swerve sugar substitute granular and brown. When the bread was done, I mixed Swerve confectioners sugar with a little butter to spread on top. It is exceptional. This will be my go-to recipe for banana bread from now on. Blessings from east Texas sweet lady and thank you again.❤️

Thank you so much, i made this today with my kids and it came out perfect. For buttermilk I used 2% milk 1/2 cup and a 1/2 TBS vinegar instead since i didnt have buttermilk in the fridge. I made muffins instead of a loaf, baked at 350 for 23 minutes. Came out perfect. I am definitely keeping this recipe. Thank you so much for sharing!
