Great video Nas... I've being doing the fish thing for a little while now... I do it in both towns every season... it's great. Another money maker is... when you have the smithy and enough tech for bronze hammers then they are a massive money maker... you can mine the copper and tin for bronze yourself or you can buy the materials and just make the hammers yourself at less profit but still good. I've tested with a couple of other items but some you would sell at a loss if not careful... hammers seem to be the go though. 🤑💰

since the video the prices of fish changed to make it fair. they also removed the copper scythe loop hole(before people bought the ores and ingot and wood and made scythe with 1 copper ingot and 1 log and sold it for 100 gold=45g profit) now scythe uses 2 copper ingot and lowed price to 50 gold. so they sorta removed most of unfair prices to remove any money glitch or loops.

btw bandits are really fast now and they got good strategy as well. they usually are 3 man group with 1 archer and 2 melee or 2 archer with 3 melee group. and they do not stand there and get hit, they weave in and out to prevent archery shots.

There was a little tip for a few more coins, if you go right out of the sick house, there is a building where they have a herb garden with Plantain/Johns Wort/Daisys and 1 other which i cant remember the name of :-/ there is between 25-40 of each, which are free to pick without concern of theft :) i get my first few points of survival from harvesting them all and a little cash to buy the pike you mentioned :-)

For sure 3 day season is a bit of a challenge for new players, and I tend to recommend doing a 6 day season to start, but after a few reasonably good starts when a new player understands the processes for better progress, 4 days seasons helps to reduce the wait times for crops after planting and such.

Whenever I go up to the fire to cook food my character gets stuck and I pause to click unstuck and it does nothing, then I have to restart the game which is very annoying

The devs are still working on the economy in the game, so there will be discrepancies with folk videos and info for a bit. I will be making more videos soon. Hopefully things start leveling off soon.

Another problem with this video is you are selling basic goods that are needed as soon as you start building the first settlement. When a new player starts a settlement and has enough dynasty points to recruit the first NPCs, most of the things you have been selling will have to be crafted, which is not so easy to do at first since coin has to be spent on the technology once the required buildings are constructed. One example would be the buckets used for water. NPCs need a bucket of water, and firewood in the chest in the simple small house you place them in, or they get unhappy very quickly. Clearly, selling the buckets right off places a new player at a significant disadvantage since it isn't likely the new player knows why the buckets were provided at the beginning of the game.

The only problem I am seeing currently is your inaccurate comments on this video. If you actually watched the video instead of typing, you would have seen that the majority of the items I sold in the beginning could be replaced by better-quality items later in the video. This is also explained multiple times throughout the video. Also, just another reminder, this is a Money Making Guide. It might do you some good to actually find and follow a beginner's guide if that is what you are looking for. I do have several guides and playthroughs you are welcome to follow. They are even in a playlist for you to find as well. Good luck with your adventures.

It is true anything sold can be replaced later, but that often means much later in gameplay, as in more than 20 hours of gameplay. If a video is going to be useful to a new player, you only have the first 3, or 4 hours of gameplay to demonstrate how to gather a reasonable stash of coins and how best to spend them to keep progress going well. After that, more than 60% of new players have given up. The custom setting are a critical first recommendation, but why the custom settings are selected is the make-or-break issue. @@HecticNasari

I am still wondering why you didn't recommend buying the fish to roast up in the Sick House just as soon as you had sold some items for coins? You can always buy the pouch and large backpack later when you have roasted up all the fish, sold the meat and collected a lot more coins much later in gameplay. The way you did it wasn't very efficient, nor was a best method right off. Maybe you should do this video again, and remake it to be a better guide for new players of the game since the new players are the target to grow the game player population. Veterans of the original game likely won't need anything shown and demonstrated since they would already know the mechanics, or processes in the game.

OK, indeed you didn't say it was a video for new players, so you must have been thinking only veteran players would watch and maybe learn something from it. I cannot yet claim to be a veteran player since I have only played the Oxbow map since it was published and offered a few weeks later in Steam. The thing about buying, roasting, and selling back the fish meat is something a new player can do in the first half hour of gameplay to get off to a really good start, but need to be aware when it can be done again. Then it is all about the best first investments for the better possible game progress. The catch is how much gameplay experience will the video viewer have by the time they find and watch your video? @@HecticNasari

OK, but I seem to be missing your point. It is obvious until a player has some experience with the game and decides it would be wise to watch videos about the game, there is no motivation to seek game videos in KZbin. Then there is the issue with KZbin not offering some content for view, which tends to tick off a lot of content makers, like me. @@HecticNasari

Oh dear! You didn't recommend to a new player why the default settings automatically put them at a huge disadvantage and then show-n-tell what settings they will want to change to make the game easier to play. Damn, this is definitely not a first time playthrough guide for a new player. You are skipping over way too many details a new player will need to know and see demonstrated. Veteran players of the valley game won't need those details, so that must be the audience you are seeking to entertain.

Your skill in making videos about this game is better than many others I have watched. Obviously I plan to view more of your content and since I was doing the same thing for this game until Movavi corrupted last years software in the hope I would give up on their promise of a lifetime warranty and buy, or rent their newest version, I have stopped making videos to post to KZbin. I was hoping you would find my comments useful, but I do realize an old guy like me who has retired from more than a few years of teaching in the military and out, my comments likely will be viewed as a troll.
