I just started playing a week ago and I've already restarted a few times because I have no idea wtf I'm doing. I've done a ton of research, read forums, Reddit, KZbin, etc., and you are by far the best one to explain how to do things with this game. I've been trying to figure out how to do a layout because, as I'm going along, I'm trying to think about how I want the future settlement to look overall. However, trying to figure out how to plan these buildings, including the yard I want to give each home, etc., has been a huge in the rear. This makes so much sense, and I love how you chose to explain it. I learn by hearing how it's done while watching and doing, and this is something I'm able to understand well enough to do. It'll save me so much time when trying to figure out how I want to do my settlement. While I've heard mixed feelings about certain customization options available, I have been looking for a game that has that cozy factor of building and managing, but with the open world survival aspect, too. Skyrim is my favorite game of all time, so when I saw this game was made by Bethesda, I knew it would be amazing. It's just complex and there's not a lot of information on it. So, I set the customization options to where I'd be able to play and learn the mechanics, and overall basics of it, before I try to challenge myself against in-game Mother Nature. I will be checking out the other vids on this game in particular. I can't accurately describe the giddiness and excitement I feel knowing that I'll finally be able to understand this.

First off, Welcome to the community. This game is a very chill game to play and doesn't really have an "End Game" like other games do. This being said, there is no need to rush. take your time, and enjoy playing and learning the game. I have over 300 videos for Medieval Dynasty many of them are Season playthroughs and Guides, all of which date back to the game's first release on Steam. All my videos are geared more toward the new player, like yourself. So, I'm sure you will find many helpful tips and tricks among them. I need to make one correction to something you said, "so when I saw this game was made by Bethesda, I knew it would be amazing". This game was Developed by Render Cube and the Publisher is Toplitz Production. You were right though, this game is amazing to play. Feel free to visit my KZbin home page and view any and all of my videos and I look forward to hearing more about your adventures. Thank you for watching and for the comment. Take Care and Happy Hunting

I love building in that area, though i tend to build closer to the creek and like squeezing it between the two roads. That spot is perfect though, close to so many towns, being close to equidistant to Gostovia and Denica is very helpful since those two towns have some of the best vendors. I love using the hill to clear cut efficiently. I'll cut a bunch of logs and when I get overburdened I drop a stack of logs and let it roll down the hill to my settlement.

Log rolling is great 👍. There are several areas around the map where this is helpful. As long as your village is based near the bottom.

Great guide, it must have taken some effort to put it all together. Goldie came good again I see, she is a real gem 💎 I don’t plan my village in straight streets but for districts and never have long straight rows. I grew up in a village and that one definitely grew organically . I prefer the atmosphere that this creates. That said, its very helpful to see how to make the fields and houses line up if you wish to do that.

Great video. Very helpful. Can you do a video on in which order you build your village
@HecticNasari2 жыл бұрын
As far as order, the starting quest line gets you going. House, workshop, resource Storage, Hunting lodge. Beyond that make sure you have a food storage before bringing in villagers. After that it really depends on what you want from your village. Barn for crops and animal food. Animal buildings if you are going to raise animals. Fishing hut if you want to do fishing stuff. Mine if you want iron. There really isn’t a step by step building order. Basically just build what you need. You can follow any of the Series I have done to see what order I build buildings. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the comment.

This is helpful and all, but what if you have a farmer?
@HecticNasari Жыл бұрын
Not saying this method is perfect, but you only use the faring plot to gain a layout or get straight lines. Once you have your plan laid out, you can replace the farming pots with Paths to mark future areas. This is strictly meant to be used as a tool to help a player layout their village and as long as you don't assign something to plant, the most your farmer will do is fertilize the plot.

Medieval ages came after the pyramids and math was most definitely still around. Larger cities existed and definitely had planning involved. You can wing it OR plan it. Americans and their grids
@HecticNasari Жыл бұрын
LOL, not sure if this is suppose to be a dig, but just to be clear. I as an American, typically do not build in grids. If you have watched any of my Season 1 - 6 playthroughs, you would know this. I created this guide, because of how many comments I was seeing for people wanting to know an easy way to plan their villages and "Yes" a grid pattern helps some people see the future of their village before they actually can build the planned buildings. Also, not sure making this a cultural thing is the right idea either. There are plenty of towns and cities around the world that use the grid pattern, not just America. This is because the grid pattern is a tried and true method for city planning and can be very efficient.

after playing for a while, i do not see any value in for having settlers at all...you get no XP for any of their actions...and if you can't form an army over time and take over the map it's a waste of time creating a dynasty....
@HecticNasari2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the game. However, your statement about not getting xp from villagers is incorrect. You do get Tech points from villagers actions, however, it is much lower than if you performed the actions yourself. Now for your comment about the game being a "waste of time if you can't for an army and conquer the map". No, you can not form an army to conquer the map and the game description does not mention that you can do that either. So, it sounds like you expected something more out of this game than what was described. Will they add the ability to build an army? Probably not the devs have talked about this in a Q & A many updates back. They mentioned that the map size does not support that kind of game play and this falls along the same lines as why the game will probably never be multiplayer as well. I hope this cleared up some of your concerns and if this is not the game for you, then I wish you Happy Hunting in your search for a game that has your required expectations. 🙂
