I think KZbin did not think this all the way through. For one thing educational channels created for kids in mind should not be demonetized. Kids aren’t looking for that content. Parents and teachers are! I’ve been in classrooms and schools and teachers use KZbin all the time! It’s so discouraging that they put all these rules on my channel. 🥺

I'm a professional animator and made a youtube channel for my 1 year old son. I included him into my animations with green screen shooting. It was really hard to shoot nice moments in front of the green screen but I'm happy with the results. I'm also using licensed educational songs in those videos. At the end even tho if the channel can't make a hit, it will be a good memory for him I guess. He's now 2 years old.

I'm replying to your video from 2014 on how to contact KZbin... Just so everybody knows, after 4 attempts (by writing to them through Feedback and other given options) hoping to have one very simple question answered, I NEVER, EVER have heard from them. I'm actually quite active watching many topics I'm interested about and posting relevant content to those videos; but I have not been interested in posting video content to create a subscription channel. Although I'd find this ludicrous, my experience here prompts me to ask the question... Will my semi-passive user status contribute to the way KZbin categorizes my posts as to their priority or the way they're seen by others? Hence my visibility as a poster? One thing.. i did see several "made for kids" channels who still have commercials (which i assume they make money from) and yes, their channel was branded as "made for kids content" since comments were disabled. So you can monitize your channel i assume, but it would be less profitable?

As my income comes from drawing viewers off of KZbin to my website, I don't use KZbin advertising. I might make more, or even all content from now on children's suitable. I may even take my for adults fine art channel and change that to a children's channel in the future. I don't need KZbin's advertisement money.

So in a few words, you won't earn money from your kid's channel. PERIOD. Or not? Because many kids channels owners say they still get revenue but much less since 1st of January. Is Dailymotion a worth to try alternative ?

I'm helping my daughter make videos about guinea-pigs, chickens, horses etc. And I've uploaded them as not for kids - I know children and adults make similar content. Will this be able to get monetised? I also noticed on a few videos her comments keep being switched off, I thought it was me not doing the settings properly, but is KZbin doing this? I don't have children, but thinking of creating a KZbin channel for kids on a particular life skills topic. At first, I had thought about targeting the parents with KZbin channel, but I think I want to switch to kids as target audience instead. This may be stupid question, but I'm wondering if you create a channel with kids as target audience, how do you earn affiliate revenue? I mean, kids generally don't have money to spend or at least don't use credit or debit card or do online shopping, so would they ask their parents to buy it for them?

I still believe there is money to be made in the kids arena as long as you continue to offer great content. We are dissapointed by this ruling but will continue to make kids smile with great content! Follow us and Dont give up hope!
