(Slightly irrelvant comment) It's gaming's turn now. This isn't the first time that such a thing is happening: Education is also looked at just a means to earn money. That's it, which is why even the best educational systems in the world focus only on preparing a workforce. Other types of education, especially moral education, are not taken into account. I mean, I am not one of those guys who says money doesn't is not everything, but people have to understand that just like the way gaming is firstly for enjoyment and then for everything else, education is more than just a means to earn money.

For a brutally competitive field if gamers are very good they turn pro and make fortunes from tournaments and livestream. It is not like every player in video games is good enough to turn pro, but if a person has talent today they can make a fortune and it is a very big business as well resulting in billions of dollars in revenue. E-sports is going to continue to grow as the 2020's approach and we could see a integration of VR, AR, MR technology and internet play a role in the evolution of video games and communication as well.

Streamers are making money far too easily. Making money should NOT be easy; it should be hard-earned. That's why I have much more respect for pro gamers than streamers. I wonder if this new-age "profession" will create a gold rush where nobody would want to do a traditional job like being an engineer or doctor. Just look at the comments section - every kid is talking about showing this video to their mother. LOL

But the overwhelming majority of streamers don’t make any money. So the very few streamers who do make money, do it by virtue of their commitment, and time they put in. Most people who do only look at the $$$ tend to look at streaming as a get rich quick scheme, rather than a long term commitment in a passion which requires dedication and luck to be able to support themselves.

My issue with this video is that it speaks of "how to make money" making out like its an easy achievement, but it is not, yes cloud9 is successful but their are hundreds of thousands of players getting scammed, used, and losing money through false promises, bad organizations, and big issues with players having any chance of ever receiving a proper income or actual money. also with sponsors, orgs, etc all taking cuts, you can have your money cut in half.

@@Exnscsgo It's because there are football players who try to avoid paying taxes so when they get caught they just pay less than what they got by avoiding taxes. He's not saying there are pro gamers who avoid taxes but it's possible.

Depending on the success of the person, it's either per month or per year, E Sports teams dedicate their time to playing games round the clock so they should be getting paid at least per month if they want to survive, and they should be, through sponsorships and other avenues.

US Air Force is smart for sponsoring, considering that most of the esports audience is young. Which gets them more enlistments.
