About this video:
CIRCULAR ECONOMY SUCCESS: FINLAND’S RECYCLING PROGRAMME KEEPS BOTTLES AND CANS OFF THE STREETS
We see how Finland’s deposit system for bottles and cans achieves a recycling rate of more than 90 percent, and how city administrators and event organisers supplement the system with their own resourceful programmes.
Although PET is used in several applications, (principally textile fibres for apparel and upholstery, bottles and other rigid packaging, flexible packaging and electrical and electronic goods), as of 2022 only bottles are collected at a substantial scale. The main motivations have been either cost reduction (when oil prices spike) or recycle content of retail goods (driven by regulations or public opinion). An increasing amount is recycled back into bottles, the rest goes into fibres, film, thermoformed packaging and strapping.[1] After sorting, cleaning and grinding, 'bottle flake' is obtained, which is then processed by either:
'basic' or 'physical' recycling. Bottle flake is melted into its new shape directly with basic changes in its physical properties.
'chemical' or 'advanced' recycle. Bottle flake (or possibly a less pure feedstock) is partially or totally depolymerized then enabling purification. The resulting oligomers or monomers are repolymerized to PET polymer, which is then processed in the same way as virgin polymer.
In either case, the resulting feedstock is known as "r-PET" or "RPET".
TOMRA is a Norwegian multinational corporation manufacturing collection and sorting products, such as reverse vending machines for the food, recycling and mining industries. With over 82,000 (RVMs) installed, 10,000 food sorters and 6,000 recycling systems worldwide, TOMRA is the market leader in its industries
Uuden TOMRA R1 -palautusautomaatin avulla on helpompaa ja nopeampaa säästää maapalloamme:
-Kaada yli 100 tölkkiä ja muovipulloa automaattiin, ota kuitti ja mene ostoksille.
-Jopa 5 x nopeampi kuin perinteiset palautusautomaatit, joten säästät luontoa lyhyemmässä ajassa.

this is actually a great way to deal with pollution. people pay a bit extra for their bottled or canned beverages, but get it back when they recycle it. if they do not recycle it and instead litter it, people are encouraged to pick them up and recycle it for the money it gives them.

Hello, I find this video interesting because it shows another form of recycling. Although I wonder if the US would in a way, benefit and make recycling and waste be more controlled like in Finland or Sweden as well. Sorry for the rant but I'm intrigued in the concept of how European countries recycle. Thanks for the video 🤗🙆

But now they wanna change that policy and make it possible to return to more stores without needing to go to the store you bought from . We also have now a tax on plastic when you buy something from a vendor and they give you food wrapped in plastic you have to pay the vendor for the plastic they can charge whatever they wanna 0.1 to 0,50 cent but most honorable vendors wil make you pay 0.01cent and they reduce also the price by 0.01cent
