Okra soup is an African food that most African countries cook differently . This recipe that I have shown in the video is the gambian recipe but even in Gambia 🇬🇲 people cook it differently. This is the easy way to cook it.i hope you all enjoy the video. Thank you.

Really enjoyed watching this. Netetu is called locust beans, kereng kereng is called parsley. I like the fact that you didn't use meat as I don't eat meat but love fish. When I cook it I don't bother with onions. I prefer it with fufu dough rather than rice. Absolutely delicious. What I also like is you stay through to the traditional - authentic cusine and didn't go overboard with unnecessary ingredients e.g. crab. Yes, you added shrimps but you can be forgiven for that - lol. Supa kanja should be simple and stay through to its authenticity. Although adding crabs and shrimps makes it taste divine, it does not beat the original.

Tam how amazing waking up and reading your comment. Thank you so much really appreciate it . Yes the onion, meat craps and strimps are definitely optional. I will try to be much more traditional on my new videos lol 😂 Thank you for helping out with the krengkreng and netetu English names.
@beks1991
@beks1991 5 жыл бұрын
Point of correction. Kereng kereng is NOT parsley. People, please do not substitute kereng kereng for parsley. They are two completely different things. Us Gambians use parsley for seasoning purposes and kereng kereng is not for seasoning.

Nangadef ! I lived in Gambia for very many years, and supa was a great favourite. It was such a joy having all that palm oil run down your arm, and drip off your elbow. Sadly, where I now live, it's not possible to get the right ingredients. I can get the " strimps " though.

@@olleyceesay6400 Salamaleikum. The palm oil running down the arm was a point of honour for the host/hostess. The more dripping oil, the richer the host, and the more compliments were received. No drips, and the host was a skinflint, and the guests snickered amongst themselves. People can be so funny. I do so miss them, the chaos, the humour and the love. Have a good day, wherever you are.
