You can take a pair of elastic waist jeans that most would over look and turn them into something adorable. Just too cute. Thanks for showing us the stitching of the side seams together. In other vids we never see that part. It looks good, cute with the fraying. You have shown us so many new ideas to make the projects easier. I even love that you keep your pins in a bowl. It's so much quicker than trying to stick them in a pin cushion everytime. In all my years of sewing, I never thought to do that. Love all your tips and tricks. We benefit from your experience. Traci, first off, gorgeous, beautiful! Going to figure out how to do this! Second, I found you a month or two ago. You have brighten my days, inspired me. I've been bedridden. I lost most of my strength and don't know why. I am doing better. I'm starting to sit up more. I really want to to try to make these pants. Lol my poor kids (they're adults). They'll have to go do some scrounging through my stuff for me! I am not a small woman by far. But, I have lost 80 lbs since last October. I had made a pair of patchwork jeans a few years ago, but never wore them. Honestly, I can't remember their size. Lol I'm hoping they're too big. But, as I watched your video, and read some of the comments, these two things came to my mind. First, after all I've been through, especially in the last year, I deserve these pants! Between me and my sister, I'm the "wild" one, as far as clothes and hair etc. And I'm 60 in a few weeks! Second, I saw those patchwork pants being transformed into one of these beauties. Hopefully, I have half your skills. Sewing, yes. But I am relatively new to no patterns and measurements and cutting into other clothes. I'm getting better. I have a matching jacket. I hope to be able to trans form that also. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and inspiration!

I just stumbled on a St Vincent de Paul Dig and save store in my area ,(Wisconsin) all st Vincent's thrifts send unsold clothing to these outlets ,throw in bins and you dig through, it's $1 a pound found good levis ,wrangler jeans ,fancy dresses,quilts,it is a gem for upcycling clothes ❤

This inspires me so much. I’ve been wanting to create some upcycled boho pieces for so long. I spent the last two years losing 90 pounds and figuring out how to maintain the weight loss. I'd seen this video before and remembered you putting a big patch on the back. I came back to it because I got a large denim skirt, took the back pockets off, and took it in at the waist. Now I have funny looking spots where the pockets were, squished together in the back middle. Watching again to see how Yiu handle the large patch on the back.

Your patchwork jeans look cute on you. I love the eyelet ruffles on the bottom of both legs. Because I do make quilts, I know that quilting will cause the project to get smaller. Are those jeans still way too big for you when you finish (size 16 down to a size 6)? I always open the waist band and take that old elastic out. I rework the whole waist band to make it more comfortable; and, I put in all new elastic (to make the pants last longer). I hate those fake zipper flies. When I'm reworking a pair of pants, I do away with the fake fly.
