Never thought about adding vanilla extract, will have to try it. I find syrup overpowers the toast. Try powdered sugar instead.

Yes Vanilla extract and if you have time make vanilla sugar by placing a broken up vanilla bean into a 1 cup of sugar and allowing it to sit for a week or so before using! Happy Cooking Chef Mark

You can sprinkle sugar on your bread before flipping to make a nice tasting crispy coat. :)

French toast is impossible to make low calorie. Psht. bread in itself is high calorie. You don't necessarily need the milk, but it does help give it a more pronounced texture.

I took Culinary Arts in high school, and my chef told us not to use PAM but instead use butter. A year later, I met a chef and he said you can use PAM instead of butter. Can you use it or can you not? I know there is a difference between the two, but is it that big of a deal?

In 2012, Hostess Brands declared bankruptcy it was part of Hostess Brands and they went under. so if you have any wonder bread thats still good its probably the rarest bread you would be able to get

It's a little to much garnish for me, just some heated maple syrup would suffice for me. I like the different types of bread idea, I've never done it before except maybe raisin bread. The butter idea is nice too but I don't think I will be torching it..lol like he did..
