Fixobois contains Tamisone (recently removed), Z-11, Ambrox DL, Plicatone, Boisiris, Evernyl, Cedroxyde and solvents. Unfortunately the Frankincense is very far off. I would recommend retrying the formula with Fixobois when you receive it. Replacing this with Frankincense dramatically alters the fragrance.

This is the formula for a "Fixobois" type. Z-11 10%/AmberKetal 8.5% - 381 (438 if using Amberketal 8.5%) Ambrox DL - 13 Boisiris - 15 Evernyl - 2 Cedroxyde - 15 Plicatone - 12 Solvent - 562 (505 if using Amberketal 8.5%) The base is actually very light smelling and is more of a fixative than anything else.

I agree. Even swapping it for a light ambery/woody material like Amber Core, Ysamber or Boisambrene Forte would be a lot better than Olibanum I think.

Good scents company lists Timbrox Base under suppliers. I’m not exactly sure, but I’d assume this section of the website contain comparable alternatives from other companies. It is available at PA.

The Christian Grey of fragrances. "Would you like to see my fragrance room?" Just picked up Ganymede. It is true, it is a total vibe. It takes you somewhere else completely. Same with Acqua di Gio, so many of us have memories associated with it. Almost like a time machine smelling it, brings me back to my youth!

Ryan, Love Grosso Lavender. I grew this on the farm in Idaho. This is what Chat GPT says about it. Ha! Grosso lavender, scientifically known as Lavandula × intermedia 'Grosso', is a hybrid lavender cultivar that's highly valued for its aromatic qualities and ornamental appeal. It's a cross between two species of lavender, Lavandula angustifolia and Lavandula latifolia. Grosso lavender is renowned for its intense fragrance and rich purple flower spikes, making it a popular choice for gardens, landscaping, and essential oil production. It's often grown for its essential oils, which are used in aromatherapy, perfumery, and various other applications due to their calming and soothing properties.

FYI: Macrolide Supra is just the brand name for Symrise's Exaltolide. Lavandin super is one of a number of different clones of a hybrid of Lavandula angustifolia and latifolia. Two other well known clones are Lavandin grosso and Lavandin abrialis (the latter being the first one to be cloned 100 years ago). Lavandin in general is a cross between ordinary Lavender and spike Lavender.

hello, Ryan! one of your videos popped up in my recommendations recently and i was soooo glad that it did! i watched all of your videos and just wanted to say that i am truly grateful for the content you're making. thank you so much! although i'm not going to make any perfumes, it's always very interesting to watch perfumes broken down and to be given comments on its ingredeints! thank you so much for your unique work :) any plans for making ganymede?

I've done that for some accords. It might make good video content, but the formula's are very... "meh". I did find another AI tool specifically for perfume formulas which I may do a video on :-)

Thank you Ryan. I tried this one and for once it didn't please me. Sadly I didn't have fixobois or oliban. I replaced it with a little bit of elemi but, no. Not good and not close to the real AdG that I like very much. I certainly made something wrong, anyone have compared this formula with the real one ?
@RyanParfums6 күн бұрын
I note at the end of the video that this formula misses the mark by a wide margin. I’ll be looking for another formula for AdG 🙂

I assume that if any ingredient doesn't indicate 10% dilution, it would be 100% concentration, right?
@RyanParfums2 ай бұрын
Correct. Furthermore, if it doesn’t say something like Abs, CO2, Resin, etc. at the end of it, you can assume it’s an essential oil.

@@2ndAveScents You definitely don't "need" to dilute your materials. However, it's common for people just starting perfumery to dilute materials as a way to keep costs down while you learn.
@2ndAveScents3 ай бұрын
@@RyanParfums are you accounting for the dilution in the math for the formula or are you just weighing out the diluted material according to the percentage in the formula and then accounting for the dilution when you bottle i concentrate with alcohol?
@RyanParfums3 ай бұрын
@@2ndAveScents I use a formulation app called Formulair that helps account for dilutions and concentrations. In short, however, I take each formula and just make it using my 10% dilutions rather than the neat (100% concentrate) materials. That way the relative proportions of the materials is the same.

Dear Teacher you still not answering my Question. ( Parts by weight) in grams...
@RyanParfums5 ай бұрын
My friend, just assume each ingredient is in grams. “Parts by Weight” is THE way to stipulate a formula. It’s up to each perfumer to convert the amount of each “part” according to the batch size needed by that perfumer.
