Great tutorial, in one thing I have to correct you tho. H.264 Proxies are not there for better peformance. To run Premiere smoothly you actually want to have your footage as uncompressed as possible, so your GPU is less busy decoding your footage. So for better performance choose ProRes files. H.264 proxies are only useful if for example you want to compress your footage to send it to an external editor faster,who then will use these proxies to edit and sends you back the project file so you can render the video with the original data.

Thanks for that video. Weirdly whenever I set the playback resolution to less than full, the video gets even more choppy. I'm using many layers with text and green screen for my videos. Not sure if that requires additional work for the computer to reduce the size of that.

On Ram you reserve it for Adobe. Does that mean that it always just holds it for Adobe even when no Adobe is running? So you can never use that Ram save for Adobe? Or you can have Adobe running at the same time as another app like youtube. and it will only give your youtube 6 GBs of ram to use?

I can't find "optimize rendering for..." in the Memory section - is that because I have assigned 100 GB to PP? I have absolutely no playback issues, 9 streams of media from M2 purely, but my Multicam tiles always take forever to appear... Or when I want to click something in the FX panel, it takes several seconds to think and let me click
