Solid process! I've been producing for a few years but really want to circle back and strengthen my drum game. All the key concepts are so well explained, even though I'm familiar with them this massively helped as a refresher. Look forward to applying the workflow.

I love that you've taken the time to explain everything (with name and all) rather than just clicking a studied loop together with presets like most youtube videos do. Thank you.

Enjoyed this video, a great intro tutorial on how to layer various elements to get a good house groove. One small note : @ 21:00 "When we're using audio we have to swing manually" - audio clips in Ableton can have grooves applied to them the same as MIDI clips.
@EDMProd3 жыл бұрын
Correct! You definitely can swing audio, I shouldn't have said we 'have to' swing manually. Good pickup I just prefer swinging manually in this case, because there are fewer steps, and the audio clips don't degrade in quality, as they do get warped by applying the groove.

This is amazing video! I always struggled with the groove (kinda funny, the most important element in house music), and the 16th note grid philosophy really helped

When he says there is nothing in what he later calls the groove spots, I think he is assuming the user knows that the sound in the bars above are releasing at that point and the midi notes while still in that spot is not going to be actually producing sound (unless you have some super subby kick).

Hi! Luca! When you search for the Texture loop what are the key words you enter to get some loops with good textures to add?

Hey Hannah, I can usually find something nice if I type in 'texture,' 'atmosphere' or 'field recording' Otherwise, you could also check out something like Radio Aporee which is a sound map of field recordings from all over the world aporee.org/maps/

Cool! But I must say that the most common BPM on real House Music, as far as I can see, is between 120vto 126, with some hits above that. Try to take some time to check thus... Marshal Jefferso's House Music Anthem, Liz Torres hits,, Chicago's Traxx hits, Hot Mix 5 hits, DJ International hits, ffrr hits... ...Blase, JM Silk, Visual, CC Rogers, Arts & Krafts, Boyd Jarvis,Kevin Saunderson, ... The labels and composers, singers, names are passing thru my mind, and almost almost no one is so swinger and so fast Besides, the point is, your vídeo and explanations were really cool!
