I used to be a propmaker in the 80's and 90's in Hollywood. Loved the ideas you have. Cheap and looks good. Thanks for the new idess. Was working on a Sci fi video and was going to use real gauages in my control panel. Thinking your idea is better being that I'm retired and have "NO BUDGET" lol Thanks again

This was fun and very clear, smartly made (especially liked the mason jar lids!) I'm building an entire spaceship interior in my building and have accrued probably a ton of gadgets, pipes, vents, instrument clusters, sona tubes, plastic shapes, styrofoam etc from an industrial area over a number of years. Probably the biggest, most time-consuming effort will be going into making illuminated back panels (I like the look of the ones in ALIEN COVENANT (sp?) in particular. Probably will be using back-lit "kodaliths" (again, sp? I've forgotten) and masked plexi. (I must have accrued 500 bottle tops by now of all kinds of sizes---Gatorade a great idea I haven't come across yet. Lots of standard clear lids make for good guages, as well as many types of containers from everyday products. The backsides of modern tail lights are amazing, tho they do require a lot of disguising and add-ons. I'd like to see more of this type of work being done.

Quick Tip: If you make this and you have trouble with getting clear plastic tubing just take a soda bottle and get the sticker off of it and then cut it open and it should curl naturally into a tube shape then just glue or tape (whatever works) it so it does not unroll

The only thing whats bad are the black edding lines. For this I use 4mm black Tesa from the car tuning departmant at the Baumarkt.
