Oh, I definitely understand the feeling! But once you’ve made as many pieces as I have, you are kind of happy to give them away and not have them overrun your house. 😂

Perfect pearls has gum arabic in it. That is what acts as a binding agent. It also is why they are a little scratchier than other micas. Gum arabic can be bought separately and added to any powder with water to make a sticky paint.

That’s SO good to know! Thanks for the tip. 😃👍

So timely as this gives me an idea for how to make something I’ve been puzzling over! Do you think it would work ok with DAS air dry clay as the form? I have a bunch of that.

Glad you found the video helpful, Mae! I've never worked with it, but don't see why the Das air dry clay shouldn't work as well as the Sculpey air dry. As long as it creates a surface that the the polymer won't stick to or get shiny spots from. :-)

What about alcohl inks as alternate of pastels?
@SandyHuntress2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure the mica powder would resist alcohol inks, but you should definitely experiment with any surface techniques you like!
