I've achieved good results with other, softer stem, flowers using a slightly different method. I let them sit for 1-3 hours (depends on the flower) out of water, so they absorb liquid more easily, then simply fill large syringes with dye solution and inject the stems. Now, since roses have much tougher stems, I do not know if this method will work on them, but I am going to try :)

everytime i do this the rose does nothing but droop over and die after a day or 2. it does not absorb anything, i have lost count on the number of times i have tried this. i can never see how the rose survives drinking water up its stem once it's been split so many times. maybe flowers just do not like me lol!

I havnt tried this yet but it make sense to cut them to long then dye them then cut the stem shorter so it can drink properly at a slant with a sharp instement . check dye too . now I know they don't last long try these www.rd.com/home/decorating/how-to-make-flowers-last-longer/ found this to hope it helps . post if it does please as im interested but havnt tried yet

There's 3 methods for you to do so. 1) Spray 2) Absorption of Dye 3) Bath I'd suggest either 1 or 3 if you'd like to get roses dark in color.

NONE of these methods work, the rose never absorbs the dye to give you the colors used at the florist... FOr the Florist look, you have cover the green leaves in plastic and set the rose itself in a shallow pool of dye. Let it dry, then turn and set the rose in a different shallow pool of dye util you get the effect. At times when you buy them from the florist the leaves are dyed as well from the lazy florist not covering the green leaves before setting the rose in dye...
