Mom always added a bit of cinnamon (like a half teaspoon) and used half white and half brown sugar. The cinnamon really goes well with the raisins. I appreciate your tutorial on making the pie crust - thank you!

I worked at a grocery store in the early 70s. They sold snack pies packaged in waxed paper. I forget the maker. By the time I got to take my break the only ones left were raisin. I tried one and they became my favorite, haven't found raisin pie anywhere since.

You might try brushing the top crust with an egg wash or milk and sprinkle with a bit of sugar. You'll get better browning. Maybe some lemon zest with the raisins? Interesting pie...

I've watched a number of raisen pie videos trying to find one that looked like my Mother's, she didn't write it down, watching your video thinking why flour instead of cornstarch and double the water and why cook it for an hour ..then it was done..when you scooped it into the pie shell..then I knew ...that's the closest looking to how I remember my Mom's pie 💕🥧

is this pie made with golden raisins ? I gave up many years ago trying to find a recipe like my nanas golden raisin pie. Being im medically retired , my hobbies are all new now . Just trying to share with my grand children what my childhood was like ...... thank you, looks s o o o good !

I use Thompson Seedless raisins for my pie, you can use Sultana raisins (golden) if you prefer. Thank you for watching
