I've always been a huge traditionalist, from making my own bows, spears, and now fletchings. The more hands on you are with your own equipment the more rewarding it is when it finally comes together for a successful harvest.

I am wondering. I always heard that feather had certain bacteria and pests that can be a problem with humans. Is this an old wives tale? Or does a fletcher treat feather before use?
