You can tune the filter more precisely by going in the mod matrix and sending fixed to filter cut-off. You'll have to use both the "amount" and "output" sliders in the mod matrix to fine tune.

I knew you where one of us a quote unquote cat peepz 😀 Serum, the synth just refuses to die, it might be gathering some dust, but tweak it the right way and it blows all the dust away at a strike of the keyboard key. I love your videos, especially the Phaseplant, Vital and Serum ones (oh well, all of them... ) You are an inspiration maker,... a true teacher.

I randomly came across to this after I searched Strings Serum, this video was simply the best surprise in 2024. Didn't even know Serum could work like this. May I ask are there any ways to recreate some Chinese instruments like Xiao, Guzhang, Erhu by Serum? Thanks and Appreciate.
@DashGlitch7 күн бұрын
Hi thanks for the kind words! And good question! I am no expert on these instruments at all but I think the true differences between a lot of string instruments is their tuning systems and how it is played. The Guzhang is that harp-like instrument right? this often has very fast pluck articulations and arpeggios, and I think it's often tuned in pentatonic major. With just these MIDI inputs and a bit of tweaking with the patch from this video and maybe some EQ to fine-tune it afterwards can get you most of the way. I hope that helps!

Love these videos, might eventually buckle and buy Serum but manage to get what I want from Vital with some patience. Nice to see somebody else using the KSP too, wonderful piece of kit.

Résultats intéressants. Peut-être encore un peu de détail mais l'idée est très bonne. Personnellement à partir de là je ferais un mélange avec une onde triangle filtrée et travaillée mélangée à votre travail. Merci de votre partage.

I finally got the Roland Gaia 2. I have connected thru midi to my DAW. But having a slight delay. its only a slight delay when pressing keys. Its not totally instant. I have checked the audio buffering. and few other settings. but maybe its me but there is a slight split of a second delay. Any advice or am I too fussy? Thank you in advance.
@DashGlitch4 ай бұрын
Nice! Latency is tied to the audio buffer size on the audio interface. If you set it down lowest it will help, otherwise you can monitor the input directly (most interfaces have a switch/setting for that) that has no latency 👍 hope that helps
@SynK-R4 ай бұрын
@@DashGlitch Thank u for ur advice. I did try that. I have come to the conclusion it could be my sound card. maybe its me being too fussy. Im gona get a new sound card see if it helps. thanks again 👍

Well, I believe it's not very different in concept, someone will probably correct me, but object is a resonator (which uses a delay/modal frequencies) much like tuned comb filters

Just yesterday i was lamenting the fact ill never be able to sound like claus ogerman... (at least without asking ai to snatch that sound) you know if anyone has ever successfuly synthesized that kinda magical haunting string section sound? +its always sick to modulate an organic sound to morph into something synthetic
