I really appreciate that you go so in-depth into the chemistry and measurements. I personally have really bad pockmarks from acne when I was younger so I am experimenting trying to find ways to get rid of them. Although I’ve been told fairly often that these are the sort of issues that require either a series of acid peels or some sort of surgical thing, all of which would cost a lot more money than I have. By the way if you have any tips on how to get rid of pockmarks from old acne scars, please let me know.

First, I love your vids by the way for beginners. You mentioned, never to add oil in water. Oil in water O/W emulsions are great for day cream and night creams, moisturizers as well. But also depending in the skin type of who ypu are making the emulsions (moisturizer) for. So there are instances where you make oil in water O/W moisturizers. Again live your channel!

So sorry if I didn’t explain it correctly. I meant when you are creating and oil in water emulsions, after heating and holding, always pour the water phase into the oil phase instead of pouring the oil into the water. Since the water phase has a thinner viscosity it works smoother that way

Retinol shouldn’t be heated. Add it during the cool down phase

thank you for your nice video ,but your product has three main problems ,first you shouldn't use AHA (your emulsifier) belong to Retinol include lotion,,second you should adjust PH to naturalize range then add retinol .finally Retinol is light sensitive so you should use umber or dark jar.

Hey Tara quick question! Why not formulate the recipe to 60g instead of 65g? Wouldn't it be easier to make the recipe exactly 2 ounces?

When I use 60 grams it doesn’t quite fill up the 2 oz jar, so I use 65 instead. Honestly it would be easier to make it a 100 gram batch instead of 60 or 65 grams.
