Try using a deeper frying pan next time. The mixture will float to the top when cooked making it easier to flip over, thereby giving you nice round evenly fried akara (as I call them)

Yeah, even my mum i always wondered how she come about not worrying about measurements while preparing food. Since I was a kid have watched her cook different kinds of food but taste them only when they are served. She said ones u are in it for a long it becomes a reflex in you. Have been cooking since I was 16 but still haven't reached her level. This is the public and for some people this is their first time to see or hear rice cake and they will want to give it a try, measurements will be good. We Africans or our parents just do things from up there and still have it right, other parts of the world they are used to measuring things.
