This rum recipe is awesome, and it tastes great. Be sure to try this rum recipe it is easy to make with just a few ingredients. Blackstrap molasses of sugar cane. In sugar refining, molasses is separated from the sugar crystals after each of three boiling or extraction processes that sugar cane goes through. The third and final separation is called blackstrap. Rum is a distilled alcoholic drink made by fermenting then distilling sugarcane molasses or sugarcane juice. The distillate, a clear liquid, is usually aged in oak barrels. Most rums are produced in Caribbean and American countries, but also in other sugar producing countries, such as the Philippines and India. Rums are produced in various grades. Light rums are commonly used in cocktails, whereas "golden" and "dark" rums were typically consumed straight or neat, iced ("on the rocks"), or used for cooking, but are now commonly consumed with mixers. Premium rums are made to be consumed either straight or iced.

I used 1/2 gallon of molasses and 8 lbs of raw sugar in enough spring water to make a 5 gallon wash. I ended up with almost 1 3/4 gallons of proofed down to 75 proof rum. I made half into coconut rum and the rest with medium toasted maple chips, which made a wonderful golden brown rum!! If you use dady yeast, you don't need 2 -3 weeks!! It will work off in less than a weeks time!!

Its 7 tanks btw After that we start cooking the liquid on pot stils. The temp. that we use ranges from 185 - 190 degrees. I was never a science major but daam in this industry you'll learn alot trust me. Took me years to master this craft. And im just 27 years old 🤠

Something is wrong it should always be clear. make sure everything is air tight gaskets are important, and also your fermentation might have went bad because if there is alcohol in it then it should always be clear, the only time it might start even being cloudy is when you have ran it to long that is why you switch out with other jars.

@Nobody You can use bread yeast but it is better to use wine, it works better at making alcohol. You can get wine yeast and feed it like you would a sour dough i would imagine if you did it right you could keep it alive forever. Best bet would be buying a packet of wine yeast but if shtf and there was none left to be had then everyone would be using flour, or potatoes to make yeast.
