I didn't read through all the comments or watch any other videos.. so.. you probably know this tip.. if you add salt to your ice water it causes more ice to melt by Depressing the FREEZING point and NOT adding internal energy (or heat) making the ice "colder"! stay shine'n!

Good job on the video, I have a similar setup, with nice clear instructions. One recommendation I would make is that when you move from fermenting to distilling it would be best if you moved the thermometer from the lid to the vapor chamber (where the valve is just before the condenser). That would give you a more accurate reading of the vapor temp helping you keep the still running smooth.

Good moonshine doesn’t need filtered. Filtering also strips some of the flavor you want out of the grain. It taste like ass because he got into the tails. His batch is cloudy because probably he has mash boiling up into the column. Making quality product is easier said thsn done. If you are making for personal consumption, age it on oak.

The false bottom is originally for steaming rice but it makes a heck of a good way to keep the brew bag off the bottom. This cat has the right attitude, he really does not care how or what others do. He has found a method that works and sticks to it.

Outstanding Phil, many thanks for the tutorial. Been wanting to make this for some time. I'm in the mid west and that shit sells for $30 a quart here and it's been cut to 80 proof. Still tastes delicious. Again, thanks for the great video.

Thank you for watching. Yeah around here people sell it for 20 a quart and it is usually 80 proof. I do know a guy that is meticulous and sells it for the same proof but at above 120 proof, it's always rocket fuel, i keep mine, i am not into selling it ever, i have thought about starting a brewery with all the licensing and stuff.

Learned to make “Copper kettle whisky” from an old Tennessean-He brought some back after a trip home. Wasn’t harsh at all, no lead solder in the still or condenser. Strong, oh yes, according to the rows of bubbles after shaking its was about 120 proof!

I know all the Longs. Live off ball play. Know a few people who make it. And they label it as their own. Lol.My dads passed away now. But he kept his old 78 trans am in the garage til he passed. Ran from the law to many times in it. He'd run shine at night time. Has a switch by steering wheel that cuts the brake lights off. Way he has headlights but police can't see where he IS or where he's turning. He beefed springs up in back too. Got family in Reliance Tn too. The Powells

Great all around video and shine tutorial. Watched others and after I did, I wished I had seen this one first. All the others were a waste of time! This video has all the information that you need. It's like this, I figure if the man has been doing this long enough to talk about it calmly while showing what he's doing without saying ah', ah' ,ah every few words and he's not dead from his work. Then he knows what the hell he's talking about. Great stuff CK!

That means a lot i appreciate it, remember if you want to not cook it the second time around you do not have to and you really don't have to add yeast during the second time but i do because i am impatient. A lot of old timers do it differently but like i a said i am always in a hurry lol You could just use sugar or any fruit but it is more expensive.
