Hi Emma, I've been making these for years and have never baked the clay. When my boys were small we used to make them together and I think for them, part of the charm was that they could do it all by themselves! 🙂

At the end of the day, the biggest advantage is that air-drying doesn't cost you anything 💰 (baking takes at least four to five hours). Instead of painting them, add cinnamon, ginger or cocoa powder.

👍Yes, you can do this, but you will need to use quite a bit to achieve a similar dark col, r and it may also affect the texture and drying time.
