Looks like one of the best slingshot designs I have seen so far. I like the low clearance between posts. It seems that if you hit an intruder in the head / face with one of those heavy hex nuts, that would either crack his skull or at least abort his idea of further advancement.

The tapering greatly enhances the speed, because the rubber is heavy, too. The rubber close to the pouch must be accelerated all the way, but the rubber close to the fork won't. I have tested this extensively, and so have others on the forum. Chrony rules!

The best slingshot projectile "I ever fired". In my early teens me and some buddies in my neighborhood built an elaborate clubhouse. It was built over the edge of a steep drop to railroad tracks below. Rival teenagers were notorious for breaking into others clubhouses so we installed a wire grid, like that used on BBQ grills over the windows. There were 1/2" gaps between the thick wires. One night all my buddies were at the clubhouse to spend the night. For some unknown reason an idea popped into my head that I knew I had to do. I left the clubhouse telling my friends that I needed to go get something and would be right back. I retrieved a piece of plastic Saran wrap and about 3/4 cup of flour. I wrapped the flour tightly in the Saran wrap and sealed it with a rubber band forming a tight ball just slightly larger than a golf ball. I went back to the clubhouse and stood about a dozen feet from the window. I could hear my friends inside listening to records and talking. Using a Wrist-Rocket slingshot I fired the flour ball directly into the wire grid over the window. There was a loud "POOF" sound when it hit and instantly everything inside "and everyone" was covered in a cloud of white flower. I could here them screaming "Oh, sh*t, What the f**k" and then the door flew open and they each came running out. Everyone of them was covered in fine white flour dust. I was laughing so hard I could barely stand. After my buddies figured out what had happened they also thought it was the funniest prank they had ever been part of. I think that was the one time in my life that I laughed so hard and so long that it actually hurt. The slingshot flour bomb was probably the greatest prank I ever pulled.

Shooting a bow and probably slingshots the same just gives you more strength in your shoulders and back. It also slightly improves your arm strength, but mainly when using bad shooting technique. I'm not entirely sure on slingshots, but I think they require more arm effort than bows
