I made this for dinner ..I made fried pork chops, beans and your famous skillet cornbread.. the onions peppers and corn makes it so yummy. You remind me of my mother who passed away in 2012. She loved to cook like this and enjoyed helping her. Thanks for your patience and love you put in your recipes.

I grew up without ever eating cornbread, period. I moved to Memphis, TN in 1979. It seems like with cooking I never stop learning how to do something different. Your videos are a blessing to us all💝 You taught me about butter roll dessert. I missed out all those years before I saw the video. Thank you for everything 😊

An easier mix, and just as good, is 1/2 cup cornmeal and 1/4 cup "just add water" pancake mix (2:1 ratio). Add a spoon of sugar and a pinch of salt. Then add enough water to batter. A thick batter comes out like cornbread and a thinner batter comes out like pancakes. The instant pancake mix serves as a binder for the corn meal (probably because of the wheat gluten) and allows it to rise a little. A variation on this is to add a bunch of chopped onion and make onion patties. Taste like onion rings but easier to make.

bimp33619 unfortunately selling cast iron online is typically difficult and we closed our etsy store due to low sales. Now we sell direct to customers and in an antique store. If there is a specific brand or soze you want I could email you photos of what I have and or find it for you if we do not have one currently.

What is in your cornmeal mix? I was dissapointed with the banana pudding recipe...but... I like you and I do know different strokes for different folks. I am trying to revisit my childhood Southern Soulfood Cookin. I am from the UK but was fortunate enough to have experienced a multi cultural environment!. I have deeply missed that loving, for the most part, environmen. The best of all people is beautiful and I truly believe reflects a higher power however it is expressed in differing cultures and attitudes of having a respect for all life no matter how differing! Luv ya! 😘xx PS sorry to be so long winded...after all we are only talking about not water corn bread. X XX
