How to Make Snail Jello - Food for Snails

i know this is old but this recipe has worked so well, my snails and shrimp love it however i didn't use an organic baby food, i used a 79 cent jar of squash food and only 8 tablets of tums 750 extra strength, and i had a betta fish treat dialer that was gone besides a lot of powder so i added that too, it was daphina, blood worms and mysis i also added about 1/4 a cup of extra blood worms for extra food and nutrients and the geltin of course. Just load it with protein foods and theyll love it.

in place of the calcium tabs i use a calcium supplement made for lizards. it's already a powder so i don't have to do any crushing. i also don't use the algae wafers, i just use flaked food.

How much powered calcium should I add for single batch? I have bearded dragon so I already buy calcium.

Tried it last week and my apple snail loves it. He'll sometimes roll into a ball with the jello cube in the middle...just blissfully nibbling away. :) Thanks for posting this. ^w^

I use the white weekend feeders they come in a pack of 4 and look like little shells..My snail loves them, course so do my black moors. They last 3 days each depending on water temp and perameters.

My apple snails really enjoyed it. I buy a 4 pack about every 2-3 weeks depending on how long they last. I'm sure nerites would enjoy them too. They're under 2 dollars so if they end up not liking it it's not like you're out too much. I hope that helps :)

Cuddle Bone, dog biscuits, spring water. Crush two mall dog bones in a zip lock bag. Get out one and a half more of the cuddle bone...estimate this, then Cush that up also. Both should be very fine powder. Put in a bowl...add dechlorinated water to the powder little by little,until it’s lick a sticky dough-like ball, that doesn’t come apart or crumble. Get a small plate or flat surface...make a ball to size for feeding and flatten it like a pancake....add it to your tank and watch them run. NOTE: it stinks, may want to make it outside. This is not my recipe. It works great 😀

I feed my snails cucumber and carrots, they love carrots, (not as much as cucumber, but it's still good)

I add my finished product to an old container that had Frozen bloodworms which I got from my local pet store. It does cost a bit more than just going out and buying a tupperware container. Tupperware doesn't come with fish food Plus The mini individual spaces in the packaging are single serving and made to be placed in the freezer so it is excellent for this project.

Watch out. You'll end up with massive detritus worms if not fed on something that keeps the food from going into the substrate!

Yes. They are fish safe! And I feed them some sort of calcium-based food once a month, usually, but it's rotated with their daily feedings.
