Rather Grossly Underrated video in my humble opinion.

Bay leaves in rice? That's new for me and something I need to try! Also, I need the tiny hand spatula thing. Love you long time!!
@PantsDownApronsOn Жыл бұрын
Depending on what you have it with, you can flavour rice quite nicely so it’s not too bland. Them tiny hands are fun for videos but they suck for cooking)).

I cracked up when I saw that. I was like, "this fuk'n guy 🤣!" I'm definitely here for the humor, the food is just the icing on the proverbial cake.

For real! I'm late to the biltong party but after just watching his version and a couple other linked videos thereafter I couldn't help but subscribe. It's amazing and sad be doesn't have a million subscribers. Shit....what if he's a Russian disinfo agent? 🤣

@@FiglioBastardo Nooit bru, this ou is way too authentic to be a Ruskie spy! That ma se kinners slang cant be taught, that shit runs deep, like a taste for Bobotie, Bredie, Biltong en Brannewyn!

Grew up on this; knew about it for 60-odd years. The best version was on the Blue Train somewhere north of De Aar one day, prepared by Chef Bobby Wessels.

We we would cheap cuts of mutton or beef bones not a leg of lamb. This is a Cape Malay dish. Busy making mine at the moment.

... Time to buy some mutton and put this in my mouth hole lol I'm surprised at how thick this stew was even without the addition of flour
@PantsDownApronsOn Жыл бұрын
Do it! Yeah you don’t need flour. The tomatoes and onions cooks to a puree which thickens it perfectly. 👍

i am hitherto in complete ignorance of this intensely flavor-extracted stew-- if i can even call it that-- that i can smell simmering right through my computer screen. one thing i'll do differently when i try this odd, exotic, apparently awesomely aromatic Thing, and in the spirit of the way i see what you've done here, is to render that trimmed lamb fat and use it, lamb chitlins and all, in lieu of 'neutral oil'. generally see no reason to use a neutral oil when there is a fully partisan fat ready and willing to make a stand. it's like jesus said-- uh, ok no he dint quite speak to that. also i might debone lamb the night before, pressure cook the bones for like, 2+hrs, and use the stock from that instead of water to top up the Thing during the long simmer. thanks for another totally compelling prep and presentation

I never understood dishes that have both tomato and potato in them.. to me, it's just weird. Indian curries and aloos are among the wackadoodle combos that just make me shake my head. Ketchup on fries is the exception.

@@PantsDownApronsOnQuite possibly the best fries and ketchup (which is gross in my book. It's mustard or some good vinegar, or nothing else) I ever want to put in my mouth-hole! Insert "tinyhandswaving.png"
