I live 30 mins from Savannah and love their praline and you have DEFINITELY hit it right on the head with this recipe! Will be adding this to my recipe book that I plan to pass to my daughters when they get older ❤️

I’ve been making these for years and just could not master that last bit. This is very helpful. I’m taking some to a church event tomorrow because I now live in Texas and apparently they think pralines are chewy or they buy the ones at Buc-ees and they need to find out what real pralines are.

Me neither mine tasted surgery ot just wouldn't set I had to put them in the fridge amd they still had a slight gritty sugar taste to them

Hi there, could you put the mixture into a baking tray and cut into squares once set? Would this affect the sandy texture?

Usually that happens when they didn’t reach a high enough temperature.

Thanx for the recipe. What is half half? I am in South Africa, we don't get that here. Is it half milk and half cream? But I can use Ideal nilk

If my pralines come out gritty, can this be fixed?

Do you mean gritty in the sugar not dissolved?

It can only be prevented. You have to scrape down the sides of the pan very well while cooking. I have also seen it suggested to brush the sides with hot water to dissolve sugar crystals. It’s a chemical thing I don’t fully understand myself.

To you, sure, Boudreaux. Not everyone talks like you. It would sound pretty freaking weird if we all made sure to try and sound like a native of every place we mention in conversation, and with her accent she’d sound pretentious if she said it your way. Quit gatekeeping.

I made the exact recipe yesterday and left it overnight, but it wasn't like you, it was too soft also after 12 hrs .. what is my mistake?

They probably never reached the right temperature. Could be a faulty thermometer?
