Why do I watch these videos on an empty stomach without any intention of cooking? So hungry now... Thanks for the recipe!

Maggie, you had me actually wanting to reach into my screen and pull out a dumpling! Wow what a recipe! But even more than that, I live the story and feel I know just a little bit about your grandmother. Great stuff!

Amazing! I am so glad I saw your site. I am making dumplings for a party and this took out the guess work.
I've evolved from buying cooked dumplings from the store to cooking up pre-made to making them from scratch yours was the first recipe I tried. I do sometimes cheat w/premade wrappers though.

these are so good, i didn't have any green onions or sesame oil on hand so i put some mild chile peppers in to make up for the vegetable bulk of the onions. Even my dad who usually doesn't like potstickers had a few before i was even done cooking them all.

We really enjoyed that the recipe made alot and hunkering down for hurricane matthew we were able to eat them for 2 days. Now i have to learn how to use the bamboo steamer as i did burn the bottom of one of them (dumplings tasting like burnt bamboo is 👎)

Does anyone know how you can make these to freeze. Like would you steam them first then let them cool and freeze or would you freeze them right from after they were wrapped. I’m going to guess you would steam then freeze. I want to make some potato filled wontons or dumplings. Not sure how it will go lol

Nice! You know, I find it interesting that different cultures have stuffed dumplings of one version or other. You have the JiaoZe of China, the Maultauchens of Germany, the pierogis of Eastern Europe, the raviolis and tortellinis of Italy......I'll bet that if I was to smoke some chicken, chop it up fine, mix in some dried shopped mango or figs, and some mild chilis, you could use this same dough recipe.

@johnhavens7766 жыл бұрын
I've had the home made wrapper version in China. My lady love's mother taught me how to make them. They should be somewhat doughy. Pre-made wrappers are going to give you more of that "rice" flavor.

The use of chopsticks while cooking borders on stubborn. I was like just use a spatula to stir and a spoon to scoop/portion out. This coming from someone that always uses chopsticks to eat traditional Chinese dishes.

I liked the recipe, music, and your steamer. The design of the steamer goes well with the music tbh 🎶 Pork is prohibited though by Allah the greatest why don’t you replace it with something else ? It also has massive side effects on the body.
