~MRC~ Use that same anti-stick spray to line the ice cube tray before you load it with the melted concoction and then chill it at least 6 hours. You'll be happily surprised at how easy the baits will slide out. One more thing - you CAN use food coloring for color - I use it to color code the various mixes of baits and even use "Pro-Cure" UV to add scent and visual aid to the fish. Also, I STRONGLY suggest using old dried cat tails to add the fiber you wisely spoke of - most catfish LOVE the stuff so even the fiber will add another PLUS to the recipe. You're doing great - keep on catching!!! ~Tight Lines~

Kris, oh my, thanks a lot for the shoutout. That was totally unexpected! I'm in the middle of a new Asian fish recipe right now! So, thanks for the tried and true homemade recipe for stink bait. The plastic molds are just the ticket! Your long experience is immensely valuable! I would bet your bait is a winner over commercially available stuff every day of the week. I love your tip on folding back the line over the treble hook, then putting the bait down over that. Nice! So thanks again my friend! All the best to you and yours!

great video as is all your vids,,,,,,,,,whats the biggest fish you ever caught a prepared bait,,,,,everyone always say max size cat on prepared bait is under 25lb or so?
@muddyrivercatfishing8 жыл бұрын
Yes, usually the bigger ones are more selective about what they eat. You're more likely to catch them on the natural forage fish in the body of water that you're fishing in. There's always exceptions to the rule though. If there isn't enough forge food to maintain the fishes diet, it will eat anything it can to survive.

Hey Kris, did you only put the tiny little amount of fiber you showed putting in? That didn't seem like enough to make any difference for that whole pan? I just knew from the look on your face before you opened that liver powder that it was potent LOL. How would you make a dip bait or a punch bait?like secret 7 or the magic bait stuff,that looks like peanut butter
@justdoingitjim70955 жыл бұрын
Start with any cheap cheese. Mostly I get cheddar and it works really good. I have a place in East Texas where I can buy a five gallon bucket of cheese scraps for $40 dollars. It holds about 40 pounds of cheese. If you have to pay retail it gets really expensive. Put some processed fish oil in the bottom of the pan to keep the cheese from sticking and melt the cheese on low to medium heat. Add more fish oil after the consistency has gotten like peanut butter. Let it cool to room temperature. It will have hardened up somewhat, so add more fish oil until you get the consistency you want. If you want punch bait use cattail fluff. I usually add about three normal size cattails for every five or six pounds of cheese. After that you can add anything else to it that you think will help. Personally I only add a small bit of anise oil and fish with it like that. Remember, commercial fishermen who targeted catfish, used huge hoop nets and mostly used just plain cheese scraps for bait. I figure if it's good enough for commercial fishermen then it's good enough for me! Good luck!
@jamesbarron12024 жыл бұрын
@@justdoingitjim7095 can you tell me where your getting cheese scrap in east Texas. I'm in Denton county and can't find any around here. I've been using store bought good cheese and that gets expensive.
@justdoingitjim70954 жыл бұрын
@@jamesbarron1202 I get my cheese here. www.boatcycle.com/catalog/product/bait-items/cheese-trimmings/ I buy the five gallon bucket which is 40 pounds for $40. Find out if your fishing buddies need any and you can sell enough to them to make it worth the long trip. Anything you charge will be a lot less than they're paying now. They have the cheese in different size containers, so you can get whatever amount you want.

Kris ,that was a great video. I never would have thought of dehydrating chicken livers. Hey , I just watched a video on catching fishing worms, thought you might like the idea. This guy picked up a dozen or so walnuts (still in the husk) from under a black walnut tree. He crushed open the husk with a rock , put them in a bucket full of water. stired it up and poured it around an area where he thought there were worms. They started coming to the top immediately. You have to have some clean water to rinse them,cause the the stained water is toxic to them. here is the link if you want to ck it out, kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4vYpYyce9ygbq8

Steve Douglas on a scale of 1-10 the bait rates at about a 3-4. On the same scale the dehydrated chicken liver rates a 20+
@BlackWarriorLures9 жыл бұрын
Oh, Steve, you can get a pretty good stink on it. I don't use cheese unless it has turned doo-doo brown. I also dice up maggots, use soured dough, and fish oil from a trapping supply companies. You can get all kind funky stuff from trapping supply companies to get a good stink bait. So doo-doo cheese, dead maggots, soured wheat, fish oil and then you can add garlic or aniseed oil on top of that. I think it's the amino acids in the cheese, oils and wheat that make them bite, but the stink draw them in. Watch out though, every dog in for miles around will find their way to your house. This also makes a good coyote bait.
