How To Make THE BEST Ensalada de Nopales | Mexican Cactus Salad | Tostadas de Nopales A La Mexicana

ensalada de nopales is a spring and summer staple in my family- i hope you try it and love it as much as we do!

TO COOK THE NOPALES
8 paddles of nopales (you can use canned or jarred nopales if you really want to skip the cooking process but i’ve never made it like that)
1 whole onion, quartered
3 garlic cloves
salt to taste (use a generous amount)
TO MAKE THE SALAD
2 cups cooked nopales
1/2 onion, finely chopped
2 limes (more if needed)
1 serrano pepper
3 roma tomatoes
1/2 bunch cilantro
salt to taste

Turn the sliced tomatoes with skin side down. It’s easier to slice through the flesh first. 😊

Try cutting the tomatoes with a “bread knife” the done with the many spikes, it’s easier.

Cut the tomatoes the other way (from the meat side) you’ll see a BIG DIFFERENCE in cutting it!
