Ingredients
Fill water to max (enough to cover ingredients)
3 pounds pig feet or choice of pork cut
3 cups hominy, canned
1 onion
1 whole garlic
8 to 10 Guajillos
6 to 8 bay leaves
2 1/2 Tbsp chicken bouillon
1 Tbsp Mexican oregano
Topping Ingredients
Finely Chopped Cabbage
Finely Chopped Onion

Que Rico!!! I'm a fellow Sonorense and used to eat it with only the toppings you used...until I met my husband! He's from Jalisco and they make something called Picante to go with their Pozole. It's basically a spicy salsa made with chile de arbol, they pickle onions with lime and salt and then combine the salsa and onions. And gurl......let me tell you, it is a definite game changer!!! Keep up the great work, you two are much appreciated!! 🥰🌶🥣

My dad is from Jalisco and he likes to eat his pozole with chunks of avocado in there, it’s weird to me! Lol My mom usually makes a chile picante that’s an oil based chile with fried chiles de arbol, the oil they’re fried in, salt, garlic, and a splash of apple cider vinegar, SO SO GOOD!

So I made this recipe today and let me tell you it’s the best, most delicious pozole I’ve ever made. I’ve made my own recipe but this one takes it, hands down. It was so, so easy to make and it saved me a lot of time using the instant pot. I was impressed. I can not wait to make it again. Thank you for sharing this recipe. We absolutely loved it!!

When you remove the chile, you also remove bay leaves and you can shred meat, for those that like meat shreded. Plus you can make Menudo and anything in insta pot yum

I didn’t even think of making pozole in an instapot! I usually make a really flavorful broth first with onions, chicken bouillon, whole black pepper corns, garlic, and bay leaves. I let it simmer for awhile until the stock turns brown, add my meat in (usually pork stew meat), and let it simmer for awhile to get super soft, then blend my guajillo/Pasilla/California/chiles de arbol chiles with some of the broth water and strain it back in when I add the hominey and let it simmer again. So so good!

I jar my own dry pepper sauce diferente ones: guajillo, pasilla, cascabel and many others and when I need to used I just blend fresh garlic and onion. This is good idea too if cook all and blend later. I was just looking for how long time to cook the maíz pozole in the instant pot. Thanks 😊 looks delicious 🤤.
