I can’t decide between mashed potatoes & jackfruit (seasoned like pot roast with veggies), mashed potatoes and lentil loaf or a shepherd’s pie. Either way, I’m leaning towards mashed potatoes and brown gravy (I love onions in mine). Thank you for this video. Trying to get myself back on track with WW/purple plan and SS works for me so well.

I have always hated milk, so I'm not in the habit of buying or using it, not even the plant based options. Whenever I need something "creamy" for a recipe like this, instead of making a special purchase I just pulverize a few heaping tablespoons of oats and one of cashews in my little blender, add a cup of liquid more or less, and blend again until smooth. Instant non dairy "milk". If using it as a beverage you may want to strain it but I rarely bother since I'm usually not drinking it, it goes into recipes with other solids. My one exception... I add cocoa powder, a sweetener, and a dash of cinnamon to it and warm it until it begins to thicken and get creamy... a thick rich beverage or instant pudding! (depending on how much oats/water you use)

Sounds like a great option for sure. Thanks so much for watching.

I agree using Yukon golds give you a much creamier delicious mashed potato then russet also perfect not in rinsing the starch and all the flavors off the potatoes after finished boiling like your spices of garlic and onion powder looked super creamy and delicious. The vegetarian gravy looked extremely delicious also with the veggie stock and the rice flour and the soy sauce what a great addition

@PlantBasedDads4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob. There is an Amazon link to the strainer in the video description. I love it because it stretches over the sink and its not in the sink. I am always afraid of in sink colanders because if the water doesn't go down the drain fast enough, it can back up into the food and I don't trust the cleanliness of my sink enough to let that happen. Ha. Thanks for watching.
