Great video. I'm preparing for an upcoming 180-day cruise around the world with approx. 90 ports of call. Created map with route and attempted making a mask with net.paint. Created a animation but when put all 3 together it does not produce the route. I'm using power director 365, could there be a difference in steps to produce the clip. Do you maybe have a similar tutorial for a cruise moving map. Again Great videos concerning power director, and photo director. Thanks for your Time. Mike.H.

Hi Mike. This was done using PowerDirector 365 when PD 18 came with it. There should not be any difference in the steps. I don't have a similar tutorial for this but I'm sure there are others on KZbin that are probably done different than mine. Maybe one of those will work for you.

Just shows to me that PD is missing some very handy drawing tools for vector type lines and shapes. I’ve wanted to use those many time and have to create them somewhere else and import them. - which has it’s drawback as when scaling, the lines change size (of course). That said, this is a very clever workaround. Thanks for posting it!

Love this but had a little trouble creating the mask with photoshop. Here's my solution to that part of the project. Save the 1st map. Then make a new transparent layer and move the map layer above it. Then use the path tool to make the path. Set your erase tool to whatever size you want the 'reveal' to be, then stroke the path (right click on it) with 'erase'. Save the result as a png file (you may need to do this as 'save a copy'. After that it all works as per Maliek does it.
@PDU_Tutorials3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing! There's more than one way to skin a cat. 😀
@paulbalen6829 Жыл бұрын
I have tried this, but I am PS novice and can't get it to work. I saved the map with red destination dots as JPG image. I re-opened it selected Layer, new layer. I placed the map image above it in the layers panel. I used the Pen tool to create a curved line with No Fill and 15 pixel stroke on the map layer. The result is a red line I can only see when transparent layer is selected by itself. What am I doing wrong? Question 2. If I get this done, save it as a PNG. how does power director see anything but the single image?
@MrsGraphiteGal9 ай бұрын
You have the map as your background layer but unlock it by double clicking. Add a new layer above. Use the brush tool. Grab the selection tool and click on the path you created. Save the selection of you like in case you need it again. Press delete and it will create the transparent path. Save as a png. Then follow the steps from that point non.
